Aston Properties

Not sure why there are negative comments for Aston Properties, maybe as they let to students who are on short term 1 year lets with what students do, I was one many moons ago. Personally I'm in a Proffesional let and can't recommend them enough, I love my flat and hope to stay for a while, they have been amazing in the nearly 2 years I've been here.

The very few issues I've had have been sorted very quickly and they have worked around the fact I work nights so whilst offering someone to come round the afternoon I've reported it, they then have insured I was visited as the first call after I get home from work the next morning so I can sleep. No complaints here. Would recommend.

Not sure why all the bad reviews, I have dealt with some dodgy estate agents in the past and Aston are by far the best. They dealt with the few issues I had promptly and effectively. Always good to know they're on the other end of the phone or email. Special shout out to Karen, who has nothing but helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Cheers guys, hope to be here a while : Benn

Great communication and supportive. This agency replied to my email within an hour on a Sunday. Initial dealings have been positive.

Unclean house. Was filthy with dog hair and deposits were taken from us for the damage done before we had moved in, despite us telling them this. They were unhelpful and uncaring

Not posting with my name as I don't trust Aston not to unfairly take my deposit in revenge (they're those types of people). Aston are awful, awful people. Have the morality on par with Joseph Goebbels. The way they inflate their rent is so disgusting. Do not give them any of your hard earned money.

Avoid like the plague! Just found out I'm being charged 50 quid more a month than my housemates for a worse room than them. Aston's response was that since I joined later I have to pay more to account for an increase in bills (which is completely unfair and untrue because someone who joined after me is paying less). Jerry seems lovely and always comes across polite doing house viewings. Karen is one of the hardest people to talk to I've ever met (will constantly interrupt you and then chastise you like a child for interrupting her when you can't get a word in edgeways). Overall, completely unprofessional and a complete rip off! [Name is not correct as I don't have a google account so am posting from a friends].

Last week we signed for a house for our second year of university. A big thanks you to Richard who made us feel comfortable and was super friendly and accommodating and helped us find our perfect house!

Avoid this letting agent at all costs. They ignore most maintenance requests and when they do eventually get round to them they are done below par and seem to use the same 'maintenance' man regardless of the repairs, and having seen him work on numerous occasions it's pretty clear he doesn't have a clue what he's doing. The property had numerous leaks over the winter including one in my housemates bedroom right next to the light fitting, he complained about this multiple times before it was eventually rectified (at the back end of winter).

Another housemate had an issue with the light fitting in her room which was clearly a hazard, this was never properly rectified. We were then burgled at the back end of our tenancy and when crime scene investigators from West Yorkshire Police inspected the property they concluded that it was not sufficiently secured and should not have been let in it's current state.

To top things off at the end of our tenancy they have decided to charge us a 220 ''cleaning bill'' despite the property being cleaner than when it was handed over to us, oh and then when asked for the invoice the one they provided had the INCORRECT POST CODE. I'm not sure what constitutes the cleaning bill considering there were laughing gas cannisters EVERYWHERE when we were given the keys.

I could go into a lot more detail about Aston Properties but I think the previous reviews on here, and the fact they have removed their social media channels speaks for itself. We left in June, it is now October and we are still waiting for our deposit. No doubt they will respond claiming this review as "inaccurate" with some BS excuse as they have done with the majority of these reviews.

I have no reason to believe that any of the previous reviews were over exaggerated given how unprofessional they are. God forbid they actually take any critism on board and put improvements in place.

We have just found our perfect house with Aston's. They were really helpful and had a good selection of student houses. We have recommended them to our friends who are also signing up with them.

We found our second year house through Astons who were very helpful, showing us the property, allowing us to take our time and answering all our questions and concerns. We felt very looked after by the staff in the office when signing up and are very much looking forward to moving into our new house in July!

Aston Properties has no dignity. Signed on to a house through Aston Properties with 2 other guys, however one dropped out at the last second. We were then forced to allow a new tenant to sign on whom, we did not trust to pay rent or bills. We expressed these concerns but we were told the we were unreasonably withholding the housing reassignment and that we could be pursued for rent and threatened with court during a phone call with the letting agency.

As it turns out we were correct in our concerns. Our lease ended the last day of June 2020, and the replacement tenant failed to pay his remaining rent. I would like to contribute this to covid-19 however, this was an issue throughout the tenancy. Aston properties is now holding the security deposits of myself and the other original roommate until the new tenant, of which they forced us to live with, pays his rent.

To sum this first part up, Aston Properties will threaten you with court so they can steal your money. Additionally, at the beginning of our tenancy, and when we first arrived at the house, Aston had failed to properly clean the house after the last tenants with trash, destroyed couches and floors (carpets), and broken glass through the house. The storage shed had also not been cleaned, with an additional destroyed couch as well as the remnants of the previous tenants. hangouts.

They sent someone to clean the trash and the broken glass, however the remaining issues were not solved until the end of the tenancy when they were attempting to find new tenants for the following year. Aston Properties failed to do their job respectively and refuse to properly handle important situations. I would not recommend anyone use them to find a house.

Ive rented from Aston properties for the last 2 years and I don't have a single complaint. The houses are all clean and kept well, if I had a problem (which was rare) it would be fixed immediately. Overall a great experience and can't recommend them enough!
