Albany Lettings was established in 1995 by Neil Johnston when, after several years of managing his own properties, he decided to offer Landlords the standard of service that he himself would be happy with. From modest beginnings and mainly through word of mouth and referrals, Albany Lettings grew. Before the term "buy to let" was coined, Neil was purchasing and managing properties on behalf of investors, many of whom were Church of Scotland ministers who used their property as part of their pension fund.

Albany lettings have been great! They have been such a pleasure to deal with and have made property searching simple and easy. Our letting agent in contact, Florence, was extremely helpful in answering any queries we had about the flat. I contacted Albany Lettings about a property I was interested in renting, the process has been super quick, easy and helpful as I have been given all the information I would need. My friend and I had a viewing at one of Albany Lettings properties last night. We were met by Florence who kindly showed us around the property. She was incredibly helpful, answering all of our questions and assured us she would follow up with answers to those she wasn't quite sure of, which she promptly did this morning. Albany Lettings have been a pleasure to deal with. My husband and I, along with our baby moved from London to Edinburgh and could not attend viewings in person. Florence from Albany was extremely accommodating and made it easy for a relative to view properties on our behalf. Communication with both Florence and Louise was quick and efficient and we really felt that they cared about finding us a suitable property. The flat we have is lovely - I would thoroughly recommend using Albany to anyone trying to rent in Edinburgh.

I have been a tenant with Albany Lettings for 12 years now. They have recently been taken over by a new company with new staff, and although their service before this was perfectly adequate I cannot say it was without fault. The new Albany Lettings is a vast improvement and I would give them more than five stars if that option was available. They provide an excellent, professional service second to none.
A special mention must go to Stephen Blaney who is exceptionally good at his job - punctual, polite, efficient as well as being friendly and approachable.and no, I'm not his mother. Highly recommended!

We were looking for Student accommodation in Edinburgh and found a good place on a 3rd party website (advertised by Albany). To make it short, Albany tried to make us pay 4 months rent in advance which added up to 10.000 + deposit and only after long arguments agreed to let us speak to the land lord directly who did not even know about the 4 month deal. You learn from your mistakes, I will not use an Agency again. They charged almost 80 fee per person. Would not recommend them!
