My friend and I are students and rented a flat from 2020-2021. Despite the difficulties of the pandemic, the team at ELC were friendly, responsive, efficient and professional from the day we arranged our viewing. Joanne in particular was very helpful throughout our time in the property and went out of her way to assist us with our deposit returns and an item we had accidentally left behind. Would definitely recommend.

Easy start and end to the let, but a few minor repairs went unanswered during the tenancy which let us down slightly.

Had a wonderful two years with this letting agency. Quick reply to emails. As were very straight forward, especially when there was a fault or an appliance broke. Thank you!

AVOID! Fist experience letting and as a professional couple who had relocated we had hoped all would go without an issue. All was well until checking out of the property. Ridiculous made up cleaning bills and fabricated damage. Very disappointing end to an otherwise nice property. Landlords beware also, any excuse to bill both parties it seemed, annual PAT tests on a unfurnished property raised concerns.

First time renting a property outside of University Halls and have had an excellent experience. Joanne and Colette have been extremely helpful with all queries that I have had and answer emails very quickly. The property in Edinburgh South itself is lovely and any issues that we had were resolved. We were informed of any inspections that were to be carried out before they occurred, which meant we weren't surprised by anyone entering the flat without us knowing.

When my flatmate and I terminated our contract (due to one of us moving elsewhere in the UK), both Joanne and Colette supported me in looking for a new property to rent (tips and tricks for applications etc) and even emailed me one-bedroom properties they were renting out, so I could view them. I would have stayed with The Edinburgh Letting Company if I'd found a one-bedroom that suited me, but unfortunately there's none at the moment. I would recommend this company, time and time again. Thanks a million for the past year and a half, it's been great.

While I can't give the Edinburgh letting company 5* just yet as we have only just moved into the property, my experience with them, and especially Sarah, so far has been hugely positive. We are students who were on our year abroad 2016/17, which made the renting process really difficult. I saw that some companies charge extra to hold a property for people on their years abroad and ELC didn't. Overall, Sarah did everything she could to make the process easy and smooth for us!

Really bad agency. The woman in the phone was really rude. I am a PhD student getting a monthly stipend and they were requiring a guarantor just to book a viewing. I don't recommend!

Would leave 0 stars if I could. This 'letting company' took mine and my friends deposit then left us lingering for almost a week before then telling us we are no longer getting the property basically saying we were lying about salaries when there was proof of wage slips and work references. They are the most abusive and rude company I have ever come across. I wouldn't waste your time or energy if you're even thinking of going with this abusive 'letting agent'.

I just wrapped up my interaction with this letting agent and I felt an update to affirm my opinion was necessary! Everything about checking out went smoothly. Once all the documents were through, there was no problems (apart from a delay on my part). Considering that we never had a problem, they were always helpful and friendly and finally, their admin is minimal at the letters end, they deserve a five star review!

As a professional female I have tried to arrange a viewing via this company on numerous occasions but they never bothered to called me back with a date despite they promised they would. And the reason for this wasn't because the property was taken - it was still available on their website for another month! When you call in they ask you millions of questions about your employment, where you stay, who you live with, if you have to give notice etc. which I find very intrusive and unprofessional taking into account this is your first contact with the agency.

I believe that this agency is very selective when it comes to viewings so they do not have to move their lazy assess from the office. If you do not want to do your job properly as other agencies do, there is no point of your company staying on the market. Jo
