Have been really helpful throughout the process so far and have kept us up to date with any changes or progression. Every member of the team has been really helpful and clear. Also we have been apply to phone them when needed and been apply to talk to someone immediately and have had instant replies to emails. Great communication and glad we are renting with them!

The team at abode have been extremely helpful and efficient in helping us find and secure a property to facilitate our move to Bristol. Me and a friend were looking for a 2 bed place to rent, and all the staff at Abode were extremely helpful the entire way and we found the perfect place within a week! Caitlin has gone above and beyond to help us, and as a first time renter, she has answered all my questions - no matter how obvious it may be to someone more experienced! Another friendly and highly efficient letting service, carried out with unfaltering professionalism. Excellent service and very reliable - any matters were dealt with promptly and efficiently with very good communication. My special thanks to Rhiannon who has been so good throughout my dealings with Abode, right up to the time when I sold the property with all the little issues that a sale brings. We've been in a property run by Abode for 2 years now and they've always been so fast at solving any issues or queries we've had! The flat is given annual gas, fire alarm and PAT tests too, so it always feels safe and up to code. Communication is great - our Property Manager Vicky always replies quickly and is super patient with all our questions as well as being incredibly helpful when an urgent matter pops up!

All the team at Abode have been incredible, from arranging a viewing, securing my property and then maintenance of the property is been amazing! Vicky is my property manager and there were a couple of things, she sorted them within 24 hours, couldn't ask for anything more! If you want a letting agent that are rude and arrogant; if you love to be mocked about and fobbed off then Abode would be perfect for you. Lollipops and the other tactics they use to lure you is just a cover for their false promises on their website. They say "Our honest, friendly and service-led approach to lettings will always differentiate us from our competition. " They are definitely different from my past lettings and in no way at all friendly, honest and if they claim they are service-led then I think they need to rethink their company's motto and philosophy.
On numerous occasions after letting for 2 years with them I have encountered plumbing and electrical problems with the property - and only got somewhere after chasing and chasing them over a period of months! It feels at any time you contact them you are inconveniencing them and appear to be very stressed all the time. I think they forget that if it wasn't for the customer paying rent (always on time may I add) then they wouldn't even have a client base.
Its not rocket science. and I'm not saying the customer is always right, but to be polite and respectful costs nothing. Shockingly I remember one time after many e-mails and phone calls I was getting nowhere so I decided to go to the office in person to hopefully get some resolution as face to face its harder to fob off! The girl was on the phone and did not acknowledge us at all to say she would be a moment. 15 minutes of waiting later the first thing she did was not say sorry to keep us waiting but complain and mock the customer to her colleague in front of us.
We were offended at how unprofessional they dealt with this situation and it made us think that when we were calling and e-mailing with our problems or chasing they were probably ridiculing us too - All of which could have been avoided if they just resolved the problem in the first place. I'm sure the company originally set out with good intentions, but until they have a staff reshuffle and get off their high horses I would avoid Abode if you can help it because at the moment I would give them 0 stars if I could!

I rented a property with Abode for 5 months, the situation was not a simple one; I had taken the room over from a girl who had to move quickly and still had 5 months of her contract left, I took over the contract on her behalf. Because of the nature of this I had to go into Abode and pay my rent by cheque every month. Despite this rather awkward agreement for me, it was adhered to, and despite me walking in to pay them money every month I always felt that I was an inconvenience to Abode and got what felt like a rather frosty reception.
They were also rather slow on a drains issue we had in the house. When my contract ended I vowed never to use Abode again, especially not as the main point of contact for the maintenance of a property. After being initially relaxed and happy for me to take the room I was soon made to feel like a problem. I have in fact not gone back to Abode.

Estate agents are hard to like and Abode is no different. You won't find overly friendly staff trying to get you a good deal on a flat, but you will find overworked, stressed employees with a limited tolerance for the inquisitive students that form the majority of their client base. I have been rudely ignored at times, but equally I have been treated extremely well at others. Strangely I found them unhelpful when we were looking to sign on to a house with them but we have found their post-sale-service to be pretty exemplary.
When the dishwasher has gone wrong they've been quick to send a friendly repair man over. With slightly better management Abode could give help estate agents get a better name!
