Services
Established in 1977 we have built our business into a well-respected company in the Residential Property Management market, with the majority of staff achieving BTECH & Diplomas in Residential Lettings and Management from the University College of London. This is a family run business were you are a person and not a number.
We are able to tailor our service to your requirements. As we are not a franchise we do not have to conform 'to this is the way our system allows us' or 'we have to do it this way because of our system'. We can tailor make a service for you at a price that is competitive and fair, just ask. Our standard service is in the table below but we can offer sections or mix and mix and match.
Home For You is pleased to offer a wide range of properties throughout Bristol, to suit all budgets. Property on our portal websites are updated on a daily basis. We are members of both the Bristol Association of Letting and Management and the Guild of Letting and Management which means you are assured of excellent service.
Many people are deciding to use but to let as an alternative for a pension or to top up pensions. To help ordinary people invest in this growing sector, Home For You have become very much involved in Buy-To-Let schemes with the aim of making it easier for people to buy investment properties and rent them out.

Rude & Arrogant Member of Staff - Poor potential customer experience. I received a call from this company after auto contacting many from the Zoopla website. The lady who called started cordially, then would not let me talk & try to explain my requirements and put the phone down when I tried to explain. All she damanded was accurate earning income figures, even though it was a major UK company paying any potential rent.
I was shocked when she stated "she would not waste her time sending out any property details until I gave income figures". What a joke! The other 6+ companies advertising on Zoopla were quite happy to share links for the potential of getting a tenant for their landlords. I would not recommend or use this company if you are looking to lease a property. Attitudes that will not listen to renters will follow in any tenancy.
To fellow landlords - beware of arrogant letting agents, I have had my share over the last 30+ years, they deter real value tenants away with poor their poor attitude. These days, I only use professional agents. It takes nothing to be professional & courteous. The 1 star rating given is considered generous.

Rude. Not helpful. We rented a property for 5 years and had continued problems. One of which was our conservictory wasn't connected properly to the wall outside so we had grass growing inside our home! We reported this many times with no help! I also had 2 babies at the time! We couldn't stay there any longer due to health concerns. The property has been let out a few times. I'm guessing others are having the same issues. Not good. One star as I wanted to comment

I wasn't going to post a review because I don't have many good things to say, but seeing what they have done with the flat we have just vacated I can't keep quiet, it's even reportable. First of all, they are very nice people and in my case they have treated me with respect and have answered all my emails. No problem with that. The bad thing comes when you have a problem with the property, they give you a long time and no solution.
After two months of being in our flat, we noticed that it has serious problems with humidity and mould, which is a serious health problem. We reported it to the agency and they said they would come to see it. We spent 6 months sending emails and they said they would come as soon as possible. We also had problems with one of the roof windows and their solution was to put a tarp over it.
We ran out of patience and in the end we agreed to leave the flat at the end of December. Do you remember the mould problems? According to them, they needed to rebuild half of the flat to solve it, which would take no less than a month. THE BIG SURPRISE was to see that they had put the flat up for rent 10 days, yes, 10, after doing the final inspection. Logically they have not solved the mould problem, the only thing they have done is to repaint the walls. OH, AND THEY HAVE RAISED THE RENT BY 100 POUNDS HAHA.
If I had known that they were acting like that I would have reported them much earlier for having me living in those conditions. I see that the flat is now let agreed, good luck to the new tenants;

Having been stung by bad estate agents in the past, I was pleasantly surprised by the customer service provided through out our tenancy. Daniella and the team were easy to get a hold of, human, fair and efficient in what they do. Received my deposit back 2 days after moving out. Would definitely recommend, and I will use them again if I come back to Bristol. Thanks!

My partner and I were tenants at a Home for You property for well over 5 years, and were very pleased with the service we received during that time. Technical and other enquiries were always promptly responded to, and everyone at the agency was really nice to us. I'd be happy to recommend this agency to prospective tenants.

We rented a property via Home 4 You for just over 2 years and had no issues with them at all. There weren't many problems with our property so I can't say much about that but dealings with them were always as you'd expect, polite and effective. They responded quickly to any queries, emails or calls. The only time we weren't happy was waiting 6 weeks for a new washing machine when ours broke. Other than that nothing bad to say. There were no problems getting our full deposit back despite some general wear and tear that we were a bit worried about.

We had to live in an incredibly mouldy flat for most of our tenancy, and rather an offering any hint of empathy towards this situation, instead, h4y are incessantly pointing the finger. Their communication style does not fill me with confidence that I am dealing with a professional, rather a disgruntled adolescent. If I had been dealing with the landlord directly, the whole process would have been so much more straight forward, and begs the question if h4y is not just an unnecessary middle man and I would advise the landlord to look elsewhere for an agent in the future.
Agency fees are average to high, but when you add on their 65 check out fee, and any other fees such as to provide a reference then the fees start piling up. The fact that this agency has an average of less than 3 stars speaks for itself and if you are looking for a 'home for you', then make sure you keep this agency on the bottom of your pile.

AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID! It seems as though the ladies who run the Bristol branch have come very little knowledge on running a professional business or simply replying to an email. They have no regard for their tenants and will in fact spin out a web of excuses before getting anything done- in regards to maintenance. If you find yourself already in a tenancy agreement with them then good luck to you and remember to treat with the same (little) level of respect that they treat us. Again AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID

Cheap and nasty. We had a terrible experience with Home For You, who not only left construction waste outside the property for a large portion of our tenancy, but also failed to do anything but the bare minimum of maintenance to keep the building going. As tenants, we were treated poorly - and I can only assume that the landlord was unaware of the sad state that his building was being left in by this agent.
We were also charged at the end of our tenancy for the poor condition of the flat, despite leaving it better than we found it - and assurances from the agent that they would be understanding. My advice: AVOID.

Awful experience with this agency. I spent 6 months in one of their property with almost no assitance. They never fixed the door bell, a crack in the window (both already there when I moved in) and they never put curtains on the window (so I did by myself). Then, I've been forced to leave because of dry rots inside the wooden floor (not my fault).
I was no planning to move again but I had to resign all the contracts (broadband, energy.) with almost no notice (and so I paid all the related penalties). I also had burglary in my flat, and still no assistance at all.

As far as I can tell this is almost a one man show. A really sound, friendly guy in a car who has a handful of properties on the books at one go. A bit of a Del Boy in that he is open to negotiations on the rent 'It's on at 595 but I could probably get if for you for 495 a month, ' he tried to win me over with. Sadly, the quality of the properties seems to be somewhat lacking (well it was when I looked last year anyway).
Sure they're cheap, but they look cheap. I couldn't help thinking that a lick of paint and a new carpet could've upped the rental value massively. Madness. Also, the fees are a little baffling in that students pay more than professionals (OK, I kind of get that - trustworthiness, ability to pay and all that) but married couples pay less than everyone, which would've been fine by me seeing as I'm married but I just didn't really understand why.
