Despite the reviews, I must say that I found my self quite lucky, landlord wise because I got the flat with no deposit scheme from Simon V. so I can't complain like other about him being a thief. Agency wise I really appreciate the time and the support that Rebecca Wheatcroft from Student Living gave me. Maybe I've been lucky as well but still, she did a really great job, she was getting back to me really quickly and sorting things out in the best way. Really appreciate her job so look up for her if you have to deal with this agency.

Do NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They do not repair stuff and after nearly 6 months I am still waiting for my deposit back. As close to a scam as can be

Atrocious. I rented from Student Living last year with 5 other people. During our tenancy they took ages to sort out any issues with the house, if they ever even did. The biggest issues occurred with trying to get our deposits back. After our lead tenant chasing them for 4 months we finally received a reduced deposit back. Trying to contact anyone was a nightmare, with no one being able to even advise us on who to speak to.

We spoke to several different people and had no luck with any of them. They ignored phone calls and emails and were dismissive to this in person. Hundreds of phone calls and emails later, we got our deposit back but this is just not good enough. Having to fight for a deposit is out of order and they are just hanging on to every penny possible. Save yourself the hassle and just don't rent with them!

*** UPDATE - **Unipol has infomed me that Student Living Nottingham Ltd have been suspended from the code of conduct; they are therfore, no longer supported or accredited by Unipol. *After 2 months, of withholding our deposits, illegal, and ignored emails, they finally gave us a check out report and tried to take over 1,100 of our deposits. After 3 months, and a lengthy dispute via the DPS, we have won our full deposits back, much to the agents displeasure.

We wouldn't have been able to do this, however, without an enormous amount of evidence that we collected throughout our tenancy. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE AVOID THIS AGENCY! And if you are using them, make sure you take photographic evidence of all issues, big or small, and communicate only via email! They will try and charge you for things on your inventories, things that they were supposed to fix and never did, and a speck of dust.

You need to have written, time stamped, evidence of you reporting the issues to them. Because they will come for your deposits, and they will ignore your calls, emails and often not sit in their offices, so you can't even walk in. Also, if you have the strength, report them to unipol and the Property Ombudsman. You may even get some compensation for any grievance caused.

The worst letting agents ever. DO NOT USE. My housemates and I moved out July 31st and still have not had our deposits back (almost 2 months). Which is illegal. They ignore all emails, phone calls and do not sit in their office; therefore, you cannot contact them. They have been awful throughout our tenancy. We suffered with mould and damp, broken fixtures and furniture, that were never dealt with properly.

Our boiler also broke at one point, and they ignored our phone calls to fix it; luckily, it was just an error message and we managed to fix it ourselves. However, if it had been something more serious, we could have died from it being broken. Don't use! Our property manager was Joe, and he was useless. The company relies on students being ignorant to their rights and basically steals their deposits. If this is happening to you, please complain to unipol and your university about it.

DO NOT USE THIS AGENT. My daughter is currently a tenant in a student property and has had nothing but problems from the start of the tenancy. They do not respond to calls, emails. Problems are not rectified. Broadband not arranged despite being part of the lease. Utility bills unpaid. Still no inventory. If I could give "no stars" I would.

Absolute joke of a company. Charge ridiculous agent fees for possibly the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Good luck trying to get through to their office on the phone as this will take you a good few hours. The property itself was nice but was not cleaned before we arrived and any maintenance needed would take months. We did not have a front door lock for over the first month or two of living there and was unable to lock the door.

When it came to giving deposits back they charged us for cleaning and other things despite cleaning the place and leaving it looking better than when we arrived. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, go directly to a landlord using a website like UNIPOL.

My flat mate and I have only positive experiences using Student Living as our letting agency. Fortunately issues have been fairly uncommon and if they have occurred it's usually been something minor. Our property manager Joe has always been willing to help us out in a quick and timely manner when things have occurred and evidently has a good professional relationship with our landlord, because between the two of them they have made our time renting our property stress free. I Would definitely recommend using this company, we've had a very easy and enjoyable final year of university in every aspect of the property we've lived in!

For any student. DO NOT RENT PROPERTIES THROUGH STUDENT LIVING. Used student living for my second year of uni and have had problems with them since day one. When we first moved in there was a broken desk in one of the rooms, we thought student living would have been aware of this but it they claimed that one of us had caused this even though this was impossible.

They told us they had proof the desk was not broken before the move in, however failed to produce the evidence. When we had collected our keys for the property, each one of us had got varied keys, some of which had not worked anywhere in the house and some important keys to get into the property were missing. The companies response time and reliability is also just as shocking.

When emailed to help resolve an issue with the property, they would give a time when they would be around and sometimes not show up, or not even respond to the email at all. We had left our house in a perfect condition when we had moved out with barely any thing that may be charged out of our deposits. However we have recently found out that they have deducted the whole of the deposit (1750) and have not provided a breakdown of what they have charged us for which is currently an on going issue. This is just a small part of how bad, unprofessional, and unorganized this company is. Stay well away from this company

I used student living to find a house for uni last year and they were great. I was worried about charges and fees but they explained it all and I got a lovely place to stay. Nice people in the office too : Liz

I used this company during my final year of university in Nottingham, when we moved in the boiler was broken and it took a month to fix. My lock broke which locked my keys inside my room and they charged me fifteen pounds to come and open it before they realised it wasn't my fault the lock was broken. I never did get a refund. They started working on the property's kitchen during the last month of our tenancy agreement when they thought (without checking) that we had all moved out.

As it turned out I was on holiday and when I arrived they had filled the entire living room with kitchen units blocking in my television. I was unable to physically move the television out of the room and they told me I would be charged for leaving it. I argued that they had no right to begin working on the property without my permission while I was still renting it and went through an extremely long process of fighting my corner not to be charged fifty pounds for being unable to move my television out when really they should have been compensating my loss of property. Wouldn't touch them and wouldn't recommend them. They treat students as if they are children with money to burn instead of young capable adults.
