Edit: Maria visited for inspection. We cleared up some of the previous points and agreed a partial refund. It seems as though some info may have not been passed correctly from the LL to the agency. Maria herself was very pleasant. Edited review to reflect. Make sure you get everything in writing to before committing to anything. I ended up 90 out of pocket after they gave my my key for the electricity/gas meter, told me to use that to top up as it was ready to go and didn't warn me that there was uncleared debt on them.
Also the landlord had the locks changed, gave them 48 hours notice and for some reason they couldn't bother to tell me. Locked out of my flat on a December evening and couldn't contact them. Had to spend a night somewhere else. In case anybody reads the reply - "I believe we DID do that" - They didn't. This is why you should ask for everything in writing. ".and to contact the supplier first to register as a new occupier" - This wasn't said.
Electricity was off when I was shown the flat. Homelets agent - "I thought everything was already on to be honest. If it's not on when you move in, just to up this pen and card around the corner." "the Landlord asked us to tell you that the communal front door lock was changed and for you to collect a key which we did straight away" - They didn't.
I rang Homelets the next day. It went like this - Me - "Have the locks been changed?" HL: "Yes, it was sticking quite a bit, wasn't it?" Then I was told I could get a key from the LL, and where to find the LL. They didn't tell me straight away, only when I contacted them the day after they were changed, to ask why I couldn't get inside the building. "With regards to out of hours contact, the way to do that is through the repair page of our website.
This is 24/7 and was described in the info pack sent to you on move in." - The point is that I couldn't exactly submit an online enquiry to get into my flat at 18:30 in December, and shouldn't have had to any way.

We have been renting with Homelets for the past 4 years and have received high quality, professional and friendly service throughout. Always really responsive if there have been any issues sending someone out either the same day or a few days after, making sure we never were without what we needed. Maria has been an absolute pleasure to deal with and is a real credit to the company.
She has made our time here so enjoyable, we can always count on her to provide us with accurate information and keep us up to date with plenty of notice if anybody has needed to come round. If you want a transparent, fair priced service with reliable and responsive staff, I couldn't name a better letting agency.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Danielle and Maria - rude, ignorant people, they stole over 1000 deposit off me and kept coming back for more telling me if I don't pay the landlord will take to court just so they can get extra 100 court fees (in which was all a lie as they refused to show proof landlord took it to court)

I have recently moved out of a property with Homelets and sales after 4 and a half years. The initial moving process went really smoothly. Whilst living in my property I did have a lot of maintenance issues that needed fixing but I was in constant contact with Danielle throughout my entire time at my property and she helped with all issues and these got resolved, if at times a little later than expected. In all very friendly, helpful and reliable. Danielle I will somewhat miss our emails haha!

Appalling company. Left a family with no hot water/heating working properly for many week and at one point completely without either for 5 days!. When we complained we were told my the 'director' Alan Binks that we should "look for somewhere else to live"! Yes thats correct, for simply complaining that we had no hot water/heating! We personally took that as a threat!
They refused to replace the boiler for weeks and weeks until I paid for an independent engineer who confirmed THE BOILER WAS LEAKING CARBON MONOXIDE! You should be ashamed of yourselves Homelets! When asked for the contact details of the actual landlord we were denied this information! All staff including Maria Banks and the receptionist called Jenna all told lies either via email or verbally on the phone. Maria Banks signed our tenancy agreement and failed to mention the gas fire had been condemned!
Until we had signed and moved in and discovered this! Thanks for that! I feel sorry for the next people that move into the address of 10 the copse Liverpool L18! Also they broke data protection laws, e.g when we advised of poor workmanship by the contractors that they hire to fix issues, Maria Banks forwarded our email to the contractors! As such very awkward when contractors arrived days later Re yet another fault with the house!
That's the kind of professionalism you're dealing with here. And yes the below post by Danielle Hall is very questionable seeing as she works at homelets! No doubt she gave a glowing review! I bet Alan and Maria have never left you without heating/hot water for weeks have they Danielle?! All in all a discraceful set up. We pity anyone who rents off these people.

I tell you truly. Homelet is a worse Estate agent in the world. If you want to be robbed all your money then Homelet can be your friend. Their managers are impolite. They have all for landlords and but they don't care of tenants
. Avoid signing agency fee before signing the tenancy agreement. If Homelet offer this option run away because they will keep your money without letting the property you.
Avoid merely this agency if you don't want to have issues after. I was right on everything when I signed and paid the cash agency fee £200 and the deposit £700 and normally I was supposed to move in a week later. They made me waste my time (3weeks) and money before making me to meet the landlord in his house to be heard from him that he would not let me move in the house because he didn't see and have the contract from Homelet before meeting me.
They checked my references and everything was fine. But they refused to rent to me the house and to give my agency fee because of the landlord and I was homeless the day after with my children.
Fortunately as I was a good tenant with my previews agency, it agreed to let me stay in my previous house until the time I found another house. Again avoid this agency

They have some great properties for rent on their books but make sure you ask them for full information about their fees before going forward. You'll face a standard fee up front for the reference checks, around J100, then you pay your rent plus deposit plus J100. Then at the end of 6 months no matter what you want to do (renew, go month to month or leave) you will be charged a fee, around J60 I believe.
Then to top it off when you leave they charge you J100 to leave! Their general communications are also quite stand-offish but they have a good repairs department with a lovely lady who runs it and a good handyman who comes out for fixes. Just avoid if you don't want to be hammered with fees constantly.
