Gateway Letting

Gateway Letting has been awesome all the way from enquiries to viewing and letting. My husband and I have enjoyed prompt and efficient services whenever we contacted the agency, it's been almost 2years here as tenants in one of their properties and the ride has been smooth, easy and no hassle. Wouldn't have asked for a better property agency. I highly recommend

Gateway has been managing my property for a few years, at the beginning, everything was good, but in the last few years, the service they offer has deteriorated massively and they have introduced some very unfair fees in addition to the 12% management fee. It has now got so bad that they are ignoring messages, refusing to resolve repair issues and not transferring me the due rent amount. I'm having to report them to the Property Redress Scheme.

Edit in regards to response of 1star and explanation: yes gateway letting have now stated that they are just finding agents however we were not made aware of this matter until after money had been paid and contracts had been signed. When we moved into the property all things that had been agreed prior to move had not been taken care off, for example a dangerous broken glass mirror door which had come off the runners which we had to take care of ourselves.

Management do not seem to care about the welfare of tenants only financial gain and to save face. Claimed mould and damp in property was due to neglect, when it is blatant it's a damp problem with the property as it is an issue within most of the flats in the building. Rubbish at communicating properly and made moving on very stressful. Unhelpful, rude, pushy, condescending and patronising. If I knew what I know now I would have avoided from the beginning.

I stumbled upon one of their properties in Zoopla which was already taken. Unlike other letting agent who will just drop the phone after that enquiry, Gateway Letting didn't stop there but instead, offered other properties that might be of my interest. TAKE NOTE: this happened during the pandemic. After the offer, they have booked me immediately for viewing for this lovely little lat that suites me, newly renovated.

The application process was very smooth. After a week, I am already moving in my new flat. They have systematic reporting system so your concerns for the flat are attended timely. Their agents are also very responsive. It's been a 1+ great year with Gateway. More powers!

Arranged a viewing after being rudely asked about my income for more than 3 times(like if one could not provide payslips before a credit check). After the viewing I texted the agent confirming my interest for the property and wishing her a good time with her family as got told she was picking up her mother. Not heard back from them. Anyway I wanna thank the user that reviewied their management style before. It definitely convinced me to not chase them!

Would not deal with the rat infestation in the flat they are managing. Avoid.

Gateway letting found me suitable tenants within a reasonable amount of time and were able to select reasonable quility tenants as well. My flat has been tenanted for the past 5 years with no noticable gaps between tenants. My tenants have also been happy and any items discovered during inspections were raised to me so I could address them to ensure the property remains in good keep and my tenants happy.

Have lived in a flat they manage for nerly 7 months and they have inspected twice already. The agent is rude and tool photos of personal belongings in the house and then emailed me questions what they where for. They also overcharge for everything like most agents. If you don't want to live under the control of what can only be described as an overprotective mother then don't use gateway lettings
