Good apartments they've got but I think they are more interested in letting their apartment than making its tenants comfortable. I got into my apartment and the backyard was so messed up with rubbish probably packed out of the building from the previous occupants. The supposed garden is so bushy and no help to get it cleared. The wastebin is filled with rubbish that are not properly disposed into the right bin.
I've been here for more than a month and the people responsible for disposing waste wouldn't take out our waste from the bin because wastes and rubbish items are wrongly placed into the bins. The payment structure is also not so friendly, you get to pay 3months rent at a time.

Had an appointment for a house viewing, arrived ten minutes early in the pouring rain to be told that the guy would be five minutes late - fine, things happen, however half an hour later still no sign after repeated calls to the letters and promises of two minutes. Once I was so soaked that I felt water filtering through my socks i walked to get the bus, to receive a phone call that started with ''Where are you!
I'm waiting for you!''. Now, regardless of the lack of hello, apology or a shred of embarrassment, the audacity required to say that HE was waiting for ME was too much to bear. Receptionist is polite and professional, but I would still advise against using this letting agency.

Unicom: for a run down property with an unprofessional landlord who largely ignores tenant legal protections. I cannot express how awful my experience of renting a Unicom flat was. The house was in poor condition when I moved in. I decorated it the best I could to make it homely, and tried to make it work. At first I enjoyed living there. However, it wasn't long before the problems arose.
The Unicom landlord began to regularly let himself into the property without giving me any prior notice. This sounds fabricated but I genuinely recall the fright of waking up in bed one the morning with jolt, on realising he was stood directly over me! Having spoken to female friends who have rented Unicom properties, I was informed that he wasn't beyond letting himself in their homes unannounced either.
As if this wasn't bad enough: Whilst I was at work, Unicom entered the premises and stole a 3 piece suite from me that was in the process of being moved from the shared hallway into my flat. This had been left to me by my grandmother, who had passed away only weeks before. I presume this is now furnishing another Unicom property somewhere. On another occasion Unicom workmen let themselves into the property - again this was without notification and whilst I was at work - in order to carry out "maintenance" on the kitchen.
On returning home I discovered a smouldering pile of masonry, my pots, pans, and my other kitchenware in the garden. The kitchen had also been semi-demolished to such an extent that it was unusable and the garden scorched by their impromptu bonfire. The kitchen work remained in this state, uncomplete for the remaining months of my tenancy. It was felt this destructive act was performed in response to an unfavourable Council environmental assessment that criticised the neglect of the property.
The landlord had wrongly felt I had invited the Council inspection. Left without a working kitchen, and with a landlord from Hell, I soon sought alternative living arrangements. I planned to leave the minute my contract expired. Months passed over which further landlord issues occurred. I could not wait to leave. Unicom even managed to make this a dreadful experience: when moving out, I returned home from moving one lot of my belongings to my new place to find that Unicom's workmen had let themselves into the house, again, without my prior knowledge.
It was school summer holidays and the workers were accompanied by a child who was presumably one of their children. I was alarmed to discover that the child and workmen had opened my packing and was going through my property. The boy was attempting to setup my previously packed PC up to play games on it! Later, after unpacking in my new home I discovered that over 500 of electric equipment, including a camera and computer items, had vanished.
I discussed with with a friend who informed me that Unicom had recently stolen her moped from her Unicom property, that it was being held in Unicom's lockup around the back of their Newland Avenue office, and that she had to get the police involved before it was returned. Seriously, save yourself the hassle. Find a landlord who looks after their property and respects the privacy and belongings of their tenants.

As a mature student I was in need of a quality abode in Hull, much like a good mature cheese craves for the correct conditions to be stored in to ensure its longevity and distinct flavour. I happened across Unicom much by chance whilst visiting a local sandwich shop opposite. I popped in and spoke to a nice young man who introduced himself as Simon.
I was pretty sure I'd seen him on Grindr before but he repeatedly assured me that gentlemen often stole his photo and it was an unfortunate downside of being so attractive. In fact, he told me this eight time in the space of as many minutes. The property I chose is right on the doorstep of the university, minimising my on foot commute, which is ideal as I do like an extra slice of toast of a morning. Impeccable in both decoration and presentation I was more than pleased with the accommodation.
The recently refurbished driveway outside is perfect and provides excellent and secure storage for my weekend Segway. Highly recommend; the company and accommodation are also excellent

Lived with them for 2 years in 2 x 4 bed houses @ Chesnut Ave and Ryde Street- We had issues/repairs but to be fair to them they always came round and resolved it. A lot of the houses are cheaper as they are slightly older but it depends what you want and what budget you have. Overall would recommend them.

Firstly, i'm posting this review due to the fake misleading reviews left on here. Some of the reviews are either left by the employees or people related to employees "Claiming" to be students. I have gotten myself into signing a house with this company due to their trickery so I felt it was only right for me to inform people to not fall for these fake reviews. (Note to the company: these reviews have been reported to google and will most likely be taken down in due time) Now onto my experiences with this company.
I moved into a house which happened to not be cleaned out from the previous tenants. I found belongings (what seemed like a handbag) and rubbish (dog treats) left by the previous tenants along with a large amount of dust in the property which was not good for me since I have asthma. On request to clean the house from the previous tenants, the company had accused me myself of making all of the messes left by the previous tenants, forcing me to clean up messes which should have been cleaned by the Unicom cleaners.
The garden was so overgrown that it had looked like it had not been maintained for over 3-4 years (it looked like a jungle), and the house had constant electric issues where the switches would flip at random and not to forget spider infestations all over the house. I had then moved from one property to another for reasons I will not disclose, however the problems did not stop there.
In fact, they only got worse. Moving into the new house, I happened to notice overflowing bins with infestations of slugs and woodlice, appliances not working and dust everywhere. The radiators were filled with foil wrappers which could have set alight (even though the landlord denied this, websites online clearly explain that the foil could have actually set fire to the radiators if went unnoticed.) and radiator valves were missing or not working.
The house first came without wifi, which when explaining that I needed wifi to access online lectures as a student, their solution was for us to use next doors wifi for about 2 weeks (Meaning that I had to miss my first few lectures) which we would then get our own router. Many other issues with the house such as mould and lights blowing fuses would eventually creep up on me which I would then report to the company.
I will admit, they did respond to every issue that I had reported very quickly however I was never content with how they would solve these issues. The reasons for this included using the bathrooms (and leaving marks on the toilet), no permanent mould solution, claiming that slug killer would work with woodlice (Which it didn't) and overall leaving a snarky remark every time i would report a repair from the company (which is their job to fix so they are basically moaning about doing their job).
The company would then eventually lead to sarcasm to make me feel uncomfortable by saying stuff such as "This house has been a financial disaster", "I'm not striking fear and anxiety into you am i?" (After not wearing a mask when arriving to the house) and "You've had more problems then any other house. ever." (After reporting a repair). Another issue with the company is the amount of unnotified viewings and visits the landlord and co. would make to the house.
By law, Landlords are meant to give 24 hour notice for any viewing according to the housing act of 1988, and the landlord broke this multiple times. It is even stated in my contract that they will abide by this law so my contract was made invalid yet they refuse to cancel my contract because of this. I will not even get into the worst of it as this review is already long enough as it is. Overall, I would NOT recommend this company for student accommodation as they are not only mocking to tenants, they never seem concerned with doing a good job fixing any fault with their houses.

Hugely regretting signing a contract with these 'landlords'. The quality of the house is poor - but we knew that before signing. However, what we didn't know was that hardly anything would work and needed fixing as soon as we turned up (broken doors, microwave, radiators, showers, sinks). The fridges then stopped working and needed replacing as the food had gone mouldy - they were incredibly slow to rectify this and didn't seem to care.
The hot water currently doesn't work and they don't seem to be making any effort to fix it (despite the fact it's exam season). In summary their customer service is awful, as long as you've signed a contract to live with then they don't care about your experience. Perhaps they should care more about that and less about constantly snorting cocaine in the office. Don't sign with Unicom.

I am currently in a house with Unicom which has all en suites. Gorgeous house and we have signed again for next year. We had an issue when we moved in with the boiler and this was rectified same day, they even gave us some Piper VIP passes as an apology. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We have had many issues this year with some of our housemates dropping out and they have helped us immensely in dealing with this. I would defo recommend them.
