Nicholas George Ltd is an independent, family owned agency originally started by Nicholas and Julia George in 1988 working from their Moseley home. We have expanded and now have a dedicated and enthusiastic staff, the majority of whom are local to the area and have been with us for many years. We started out as a dedicated Letting agency, and we are still very passionate about it. We then branched into selling properties, as well as Block Management, and these have grown to form a substantial part of our business.
Nick and Julia have now retired and have sold the business to Max and Dominic, who are excited about continuing to take the business forward. Nick worked in the property industry for decades, and in 1988 he established what was then 'Nicholas George Property Management'. For many years Nick and his wife Julia ran the company from their own home in Moseley.
Great experience with Nicholas George from the first contact to query about the property all the way until returning the key and transferring my deposit back. The office staff were fantastic especially Lucy, she was great and very helpful and responsive. I have been renting for a couple of years now, and without doubt, Nicholas George has been the best agency I dealt with so far. I would highly recommend them! Nicholas George took over Block Management responsibilities at our Block in Bournville last year.

Called Nicholas George to value my property. Lucy came out promptly and offered friendly and honest advice. I have had a number of agents out to value and feel NG offered the most honest and helpful guidance. Will certainly be using them with the sale of my property. Look forward to working with you in the future!

All I can say is every team member I had the pleasure of dealing with through securing my new home were all fantastic, helpful and professional. They ensured that everything regarding references was dealt with swiftly and I received the keys to my nee home within 2 weeks of viewing the property. Thank you all at Nicholas George

I lived in a flat managed by Nicholas George for three years, and I have to say they are the worst estate agent I have had to deal with. The staff have a bad attitude and do not treat tenants with respect. In the first year of my tenancy I found out that they let a contractor enter my flat without my knowledge or permission, which is illegal! I got a call out of the blue from the contractor saying he was arranging to do some work that he'd come to look at a few weeks previously - this was the first I'd heard of it!
As a woman living alone I'm sure you can appreciate my alarm at finding out some guy had just been able to let himself into my home. When I phoned Nicholas George to complain about it the woman I spoke to had the audacity to try and deny it, saying "that wouldn't have happened"! She only backed down when I pointed out that the contractor himself had told me he had been in my flat and that Lucy had given him the keys.
Her "apology" was saying that she'd put some notes on my file so it wouldn't happen again. The flat itself was not in a great state, with badly rotted window frames and crumbling plaster creating holes in the walls that let in cold and damp and caused mould problems. I pointed this out during my first flat inspection, but Nicholas George showed no interest in ever getting it fixed.
When it came to moving out they refused to let me attend the check-out inspection "due to covid restrictions". This was blatantly not true because they had no problem with coming and showing a potential buyer round my flat the week before while I was at home! Over a week after the end of my tenancy no one had contacted me with details about the check-out inspection or returning my deposit so I had to chase them.
They agreed I had left the flat "fairly clean and tidy throughout" but still charged me a small fee for cleaning. I cleaned the flat thoroughly during the three days I took off work before moving out and left it in as good condition as it was when I moved in. My emails went unanswered and it took over a month from the end of my tenancy for them to return my deposit.
I felt bullied into paying a contribution towards cleaning even though I disagreed - they basically said "pay a small amount and you can have your deposit back now, or take it to dispute and it'll take another 2-3 months", I'd already waited over a month so I needed my money back. I saw no quote, invoice, or evidence that they even carried out any cleaning. In my experience they are dishonest, only interested in your money, and lack professionalism and duty towards their tenants.

Exquisite service from Nicholas George Estate Agents over the last couple of weeks. The communication from Paige has been professional, responsive and delightful. Paige helped with all of the queries that I presented to her and dealt with them promptly. There were no questions that she couldn't answer. Fantastic experience with Nicholas George and will not hesitate to return. Thank you.

If I can give Zero I would. Honesty one of the worst lettings agents I have ever dealt with. I have made offers on multiple properties and they are very unresponsive, they do not tell you how your offer went and they do not follow up with you even after to chasing for 2-3 weeks. you just know that the property was given taken by someone else when they update right move that it's not available anymore

We rented from Nicholas George for two years. From searching properties right through to handing over the keys, staff were friendly, helpful and very responsive. Lucy in particular was brilliant with responding to enquiries quickly and professionally- ensuring that our landlord was contacted quickly and any issues were resolved as soon as possible. We highly recommend Nicholas George for anyone looking to rent or buy in the area.

Dominic Knight has proven to a rather abrasive and rude individual. All interaction with him has been unpleasant to say the least. Found him dismissive at best, domineering also springs to mind. Booked frequent visits by "contractors" during the pandemic and attempts strong-arm tactics when seeking to get his own way. The reservation time and price were unreasonable and money grabbing. The expense for single day holding was astronomical. For a self proclaimed "family company" found them unwelcoming and cold, willing to fleece you for all you are worth.

A property was advertised by Nicholas George on August 5th, and by the 6th I had sent off the required email to set up a viewing. I understand that there was a lot of interest in the property, and viewings were high in demand, but it is very frustrating that I had to keep chasing them up about trying to get in the first batch of viewings. I spoke to a few different people in the first week, both by phone and email, and I was told more than once that they would call me back once they knew more, only to find myself having to call them again.
I was unable to get into the first batch of viewings and now the house is unavailable. I don't really understand why, as I sent off all the required information within a day and repeatedly called to try and get myself a viewing. It's a shame because the property was really nice, and I feel frustrated that I was not reached out to throughout the process.

Thank You Nicholas George. We have used their services both for rental and house sale and have been really impressed with their attentiveness, personal service and accessibility especially during the difficulties of lockdown. Like anyone, we considered the internet based companies, but quickly realised the advantages of a traditional estate agent. - and in particular an independent local agent that is Nicholas George. Maybe internet firms are cheaper - I don't know - but from our experience, if you want real service from reliable agents, look no further. Roger and Adie Johnson.

Nicholas George have been acting as my managing agents for more than 15 years and I hope that my tenants have been as happy with them as I have. With 30years of experience of many letting agents, I can honestly say that they are the best. Their sales department also successfully handled the sale of a property for me last year. They have never failed to find a suitable tenant and even during this difficult year Max and the team have always been available to offer good, friendly and professional advice.
They have personal knowledge of each property, (which is not always the case with larger agencies). As an overseas landlady, it is a relief to have a team that I trust to oversee my UK property and solve any problems quickly for my tenants. I would highly recommend them.

I'm writing this as an honest appraisal of Nicholas George to give a balanced view, not to be scornful or churlish. I started a tenancy in June 2016, renting a flat which they owned themselves. At first I liked their friendly attitude and approachable nature. However, as time ticked on and repairs needed to be seen to, this is where the real. issues began.
To summarise: The shaving mirror broke off the wall. The blinds collapsed and fell down. The flat was so badly ventilated that the walls in the living room became soaking wet. Water dripped from the ceiling onto the carpet and my bed. The wallpaper in the bathroom and fitted wardrobe in the bedroom went completely black with mould. The.
