I had an excellent experience renting with The Better Letter - Simon was friendly and easy to deal with and everything was above board and fair. Emily and Saffron who are members of Simon's team were also very helpful and courteous, always getting back to me promptly. Emily in particular was very helpful at the end of my tenancy when it came to checking out, which was also done very fairly and professionally. Thanks again to Simon and his team.

The Better Letter is a one man operation. Simon will seem very friendly and trustworthy when he shows you around, and this is one of the reasons we went with the flat. However if you report an issue it wont get fixed, Simon will blame the contractors or ask you to contact them yourself, nothing will get fixed even after multiple requests. This means that we were left without heating all winter, although The Better Letter paid us back some of the costs for our extortionate heating bill we still spent all winter putting on a portable heater as little as possible because we were worried about the electricity bill.
There was also a hole in the garage roof which never got fixed, which meant we couldn't use it because anything we stored in there got damp and damaged. I feel that Simon meant well and if you caught him on the occasion he was in the area he would come and see what the issue was - but clearly the Better Letter has taken on too many houses and cannot look after them all. The Better Letter needs to stop blaming the contractors and take some responsibility (and get some new contractors if they are that unreliable!)
