Michael Jones have been absolutely OUTSTANDING! It's so refreshing to find a letting agent that are really friendly, kind and efficient. I wish all companies were as lovely as these folk. Very good experience in a swift re-letting of a flat. Prospective tenants were found quickly and the whole process was highly efficient. We were kept informed every step of the way and arrange a speedy handover to the new tenants. I bought my property and rented it out through Michael Jones, all in the space of a few months whilst living abroad, so I was extremely reliant on consistent communication via email or phone calls. The service was amazing from all of the team that I dealt with, who clearly communicated with each other and understood my needs. Very professional, extremely competent and come highly recommended. It's hard to write this review, because really all the companies that I dealt with when moving here weren't all that great. The prices were fairly decent for their fees, but they just nickle-and-dime you everywhere else along the way. If you want to renew your lease, well then pay us more money. For what, exactly? And I did pay the fees for them to inspect the place when I moved in - and some things were not in working order when I moved in. Additionally, the things that I asked them to fix, they didn't fix.
The place had mold all over the ceiling near the bed. I asked to have that taken care of - it was not. The electric shower was NOT working when I moved in - which was painful at best (cold showers in England? NO thanks). They could have figured that out if they had actually done their job, and inspected the place properly. Even the guy that came to fix it wondered why it hadn't been taken care of prior to my moving in.
The shower was all stopped up when I moved in as well - yet another thing that I had to take care of on my own. And after paying them to do it? Unacceptable. Finally, the place was not clean when I moved in. The agent acted like I was to blame for having high expectations. But I think that if a place has hair and dust all over, it's not clean - regardless of level of expectations. Also, there was goo in the fridge, and the freezer was filled (and still is) with freezer burn.
I can hardly get anything in that freezer. I did do some work to get some of the ice out - and this was even noted on the check-in paperwork. Why didn't you fix it? I just get so annoyed when I think about this stuff. It's so half-assed, and I don't understand why one doesn't take more pride in their work. Alas, MJ does not. The change-over of electricity and water were painful b/c my flat had been listed as a business, rather than residential - that was extremely annoying.
