Feel like we had our time well and truly wasted by Mike at three shires properties. We made a 3 hour round trip on Monday to view a property we absolutely loved and had our hearts set on after Mike personally booked our viewing the Friday before. On arrival he was finished off the viewing prior and seemed happy and laughed and joked with the perspective applicant.
This seemed to change when our viewing started as Mike moaned the office had booked too many people in and shouldn't have booked us as he already now had 5 interested people.despite it being Mike himself who booked us in only a short time before. The viewing seemed rushed and very negative as Mike was keen to explain all the down sides to the property.
This didn't put us off and we confirmed we could pay a holding fee, security deposit, 6 months rent upfront, even had very positive landlord references for our current, more expensive Cheshire home. Mike said none of this matters! He will narrow it down and "flip a coin". He told us to send an email with our details and also to add that we wouldn't be bothered if we didn't get the house at the end of the email.
Why on earth we would do this for somewhere we really love? We left feeling very deflated and just knew he had made a decision based on our age and appearance as opposed to our circumstances. I find the whole experience very unprofessional and I'm unsure how this can be allowed to happen when all applicants should be treated fairly and viewed on their suitability for the property and not on Mikes opinion on who he liked most at viewings. You can't flip a coin on peoples hopes and dreams especially when it comes to homes. I would avoid at all cost to avoid upset and time loss.
