Awful company, would rate lower if I could. I am on the receiving end of some of their tenants who are continually antisocial in terms of loud music and numerous 'guests' staying every other night. Staff and management are useless and clearly don't care or check up on their tenants. Covid is no longer an excuse for you lot not doing your jobs!

Such a terrible company, truly. As a student I rented from them and they were unpleasant to deal with from the beginning. However, worst of all was their fraudulent retention of my deposit on baseless grounds. At the time I didn't have the financial resources to challenge it. I'm actually a buy to let landlord now looking for a property management firm, and these lovely folks popped up. I never had got round to reviewing them :.

Please avoid if possible. The company does not even understand how things work. Supplied all the documents and they still postponed the move-in date twice. We went through the process for nearly a month and at the end, the landlord pulled out and returned my money. what a waste of time and energy. if you are not prepared to rent out the property, please make your mind up before wasting somebody else time.

Avoid at all costs, poor communication with staff and a lack of any real desire from them to ensure that families are happy and settled in their properties. Any opportunity to duck out of their responsibilities, they will take. If you ever want to see your deposit again, I'd give this company a hard pass

Terrible agency and would recommend to avoid at all costs. Me and my partner moved into one of the properties in February last year and were promised that multiple things will be fixed around the flat (broken wardrobe mirror, etc). They have not fixed it in a year we were there. Flat was very run down, all walls super stained and not even properly cleaned.

We lived there for less than a year and they are now trying to charge us for a door frame damage which we didnt do. It is a wear off damage that could not possibly be done in less than a year. They tried to charge for bunch of other stuff too that was there when we've moved in but luckily we had photos to prove what scammers they are. Additionally, there was a lot of mould over the living room window when we've moved in and we had to repeatedly ask them to remove it and they've only done it 6 months later! Terrible unprofessional agency that will try to take your money.

Tried to rent s flat with them, after viewing online tour. First recieved two email, on saying that I've put on the viewing list, and other 30 mins later from another person that they're already fully booked. When called got informed that there's no online tour for this one, as they already took it outof the website and tried to convince me that there was no such thing. Really bad service.

They don't care about you, they just want your money. I rented a flat with them for 2 and a half years and moved out a couple of months ago. As soon as I informed them I would be moving out, my flat was on RightMove within a couple of hours, featuring old photos that must have been taken years ago, and at a higher price than I was paying. I had people coming to view the flat while I was at work without informing me first, using my toilet and going through my wardrobe.

It was so intrusive. I'm actually so embarrassed for them reading all these reviews but I couldn't agree more. Their standards are just so poor. The bathroom was covered in mould due to the window not functioning - they told me numerous times that they would install an extractor fan but this never materialised. The carpets throughout the flat were sticky and stained, as documented in photos THEY took before I moved in, but they did nothing about this and charged me for the cleaning once I left.

They took over 200 from me for cleaning alone. I took the hit because I was actually expecting to be charged for some accidental damage I had caused within the flat (oops) but clearly they hadn't bothered to notice it, further reflecting on their poor standards. Avoid if you can.

STAY AWAY. Poor communication, given property in a terrible state (very unclean) and they try to scam you out of your deposit back when the flat is in 100x better condition than it was given to me. Moved in and shower didn't work - they took over a week to send someone out to fix it. Awful service and don't know how they can keep getting away with this

It was a fair while ago but I am looking at flats at the moment and noticed this agency and even though the property looks nice I am instantly avoiding them. Having read the reviews so wanted to get mine in as they have not changed clearly. A while back I was renting with them, it was NYE, I noticed water running down the walls from upstairs. They were closed due to the holidays, with no emergency number so I couldn't contact them.

It kept getting worse and worse, basically upstairs was flooding and no one was in. I didn't know what to do so called around for advice and was told to call the police, hire an emegency plumber and locksmith to break in and turn off the water and then contact the agency to sort the issue of payment when they reopened. This cost me about 500. It was 3 days before the upstairs neighbour returned.

I was told by the letting agency and the landlord that it wasn't their problem, essentially and I shouldn't have done it. I asked what I was supposed to do and the advice was I should have just let the flat get destroyed and the landlord would have claimed it on insurance, so I should have just lived in a flooded flat over the holidays (which would have ran down to the flat below eventually) Months of back and forth got my nowhere.

Never did get any comp for the locksmith or plumber, and they still found reasons to take most of my deposit. They were dismissive and rude the whole time, we eventually just gave up. Even though this was a while ago it seems worth mentioning for anyone considering renting with them or any landlords considering using them (or at least any landlords with a sense of decency) as it seems they have not changed at all. Disappointing, the flat I was considering viewing looked lovely but based off past experience and these reviews, it put me right off ever being a tenant with them again.

Spent ages informing them of problems with the property, including a broken window, and the repairs were never carried out. We were told that the landlord specifically requested the repairs not be done so they could find someone to do it cheaper but the repairs never happened so we moved out. Then over a year later they contacted us about a viewing of the flat that we haven't lived in over a year meaning that they clearly never cleared out details or updated their files very well.

Stay away from Fineholes. I don't know where to start. They did not secure my deposit on time. They try to do video call to see the flat. Never heard of agents regularly checking flats. Probably noone taught them about privacy in school. Then they kicked me out during the pandemic. They came and knock on the door 8 in the morning to serve me the notice letter.

First they tried to lie and say the landlord wants to move in and gave me 3 months notice. Then they called and it "turned out" the landlord wants to renovate the flat and I ended up with a 6 months notice. They kept rushing me out emailing all the time. Now that it comes to the last bill they try to charge me twice because I "extended my rent", so I took a day off and cleaned the flat sparkling and left the flat earlier so I don't need to extend my rent. They aren't happy with that and they still try to charge me for the extended period. I will update my review once it gets to releasing my deposit.

Worst letting experience I've ever had. Cannot recommend enough that you avoid them. I've never had any issues with agents, but this one has been awful from start to finish. To start, they failed to inform me that the flat I was letting had no oven (signed the lease at the height of covid so hadn't seen the property in person) despite it being listed as having a "fully equipped kitchen".

When I moved in I had to spend the first 3 days cleaning the property as the surfaces were sticky and dusty, and cupboards had items from previous tenants left in them. Generally it had not been cleaned to a professional standard but I didn't raise it as an issue because, again, it was the height of the pandemic so I was making allowances. After moving out, the check out inspection showed that the skirtings needed some dusting along with the top of the shower, and the washing machine dial needed a wipe.

For this, they organised two full room cleans of the kitchen and bathroom, and are claiming 80 out of my deposit, along with 15 for a small stain on a wall which they haven't even painted. I'll be going through the ADR with Safe Deposits Scotland. Finally, communication between staff and tenants is incredibly poor. I had new tenants turn up 3 times while I still occupied the property (again in the middle of a lockdown) wanting to get in to view it.

I informed Fineholm after the first instance but they clearly did not request that the new tenants cease turning up at my door. Do not let a property from them, it will end up more stress than it's worth.

After 10 years of dealing with letting companies I have never experienced one as terrible and incompetent as Fineholm. MINUS 5 would still be too good of a review. I seen a property posted to rent last week and contacted Fineholm within half an hour of the add being posted. The first woman I spoke to was rude and uninterested. I asked to arrange a viewing for the flat and she said that all the slots have been booked.

I gave my number for the reserves list. 10 minutes later I rang back to give a different contact number and another woman answered. She said that the first girl was wrong and listed out all the times available for a viewing on Tuesday. There was 12 spaces still available so the first girl must of not liked my foreign accent. Surely being able to check viewing times for a property when given the street name, rent amount and other details is an easy part of the job.

Less than an hour before my viewing I had still not been given the actual address. I travelled to the property while trying to contact the office. I finally got through to a woman who said no viewings are available for that property at all that day and my details were not on the system at all. Unsure how the previous two women could be so incompetent.

Surely being able to book a viewing on the system is a minimum requirement? I said I was unhappy that I had taken the time to come to Glasgow and she said that there was a viewing available for the next day. The next day I went to the apartment and called the office 10 mins before the viewing to get the exact address. A rude horrible man answered and said "place is under offer you should of got a text" which I did not.

That is not acceptable. If you arrange viewings with people LET THEM view it or at the very least cancel. Between 4 staff members they couldn't manage to schedule one simple flat viewings. It is clearly an office of incompetent idiots and the terrible reviews on here reflect that. Everyone should avoid this company!

My first viewing from Fineholm was cancelled because the apartment was put under offer before I had a chance to view it. I got notified fairly quickly and my boyfriend took the time to call back, explained our situation and what we were looking for and we were taken care of very thoughtfully by Sally. She was flexible, reactive and offered a few different solutions.

The market is fairly crazy at the moment and we did not get listened to by any other agency like they did. It was definitely worth it to take the time to discuss and we are very grateful for the service Fineholm provided.

My partner and I lived in a property managed by Fineholm for just under 2 years and had an issue with almost everything. We frequently had issues with plumbing. We went several days without hot water and had 2 major leaks in the same place. Over the course of 21 months, we saw weeks without a functioning refrigerator, freezer, oven, cooker hob, boiler, washing machine, and vacuum cleaner.

After having paid for a professional end-of-tenancy cleaning service, Fineholm sought 200+ from our deposit for further "cleaning". Renting from Fineholm was by far the worst experience I or my partner have ever had. We hope that either (1) we are a complete exception to the rule and all other tenants are being treated fairly, (2) Fineholm completely overhaul their internal policies and procedures to make the process of renting a property through them even somewhat bearable, or (3) this review helps to deter a prospective tenant from enduring the hell that we went through.

Agency was good during tenancy for maintenance and general responsiveness. However, they not strict or thorough enough at the check-in of tenancy and basically gave us a kind of clean flat stating it was professionally cleaned. We did clean the flat at the end of tenancy and yet we were charged after from the deposit 135 + 30 organisation of work fee from the agency for cleaning.

If you move in, make sure the property is PROFESSIONALLY cleaned, be ruthless, if there is some dust on the shelf, it was not professionally cleaned. Raise a complaint at the time of move in because when you move out they are very picky and will ask for cleaning fee. Otherwise tenancy would have been great. They were also pretty slow at the verification process at the beginning. Took them almost 3 weeks. Also asked me for 20 for reference to my new agent. Generally have mixed feelings about the agency.

Pending the outcome of a very worrying and ongoing court case that involves a flat rented out by this company all I will say for now is I would not recommend using them. Sorry to be mysterious. As soon as the current situation is concluded I will give further details. I might just use the experience to pen a crime novel. Either way I'll update as soon as I can.

Awful company, avoid at all costs. 0 Stars. As per other reviews they charged us well over the odds for cleaning an already spotless flat when we left. As well as this they failed to fix anything during our tenancy, balcony furniture broke during heavy wind and that was still broken when we left 18 months later and our dishwasher broke and that was still broken after three months when we left despite chasing these up.

AVOID THEM AT ALL COST. If I am allowed to leave zero stars, I would leave zero stars. They will try to rip you off your deposit for cleaning maintenance fees with an intial flat fee of 25. This is ridiculous. I left the flat in a clean state (swept and clean). They expect it to be in a state of a professional cleaner state e.g. everything bleach out or reverted to as though they were brand new. I had rented multiple places throughout London and have no issues at all as a tenant.

I honestly wish there was an option less than 1 star! This letting agency is quite possibly the worst company I've ever come across. It took them a month to get my girlfriend and I a new fridge/freezer, they either never or take months to do any repairs and they never say when there will be inspections! On top of this the staff are extremely rude every single time you go in or ring up, and they try to blame you for stuff that is completely out of your control and then try to fine you. Avoid if you can!

Terrible letting agency. I was without heating in my flat for two months while they continually failed to call me back. They left my door unlocked after an inspection and when I left charged me for all sorts like cleaning of the skirting boards and the outside of the windows of a top floor flat. Accused me of not returning keys which I did return and were completely inflexible and cruel towards a tenant who left the flat in a good condition, always paid the rent on time and followed all the rules. very unhelpful and rude staff. AVOID.

If I could give Fineholm zero stars, I would. We haven't even been able to move into the flat we've chosen yet because of the utter ridiculousness and bureaucracy of their letting process. Where do I start? We viewed the flat and called the next day to tell them we wanted it and to pay the deposit. All fine and well until we were asked how much we earn.

As my housemate and I are employed part time and also freelance artists, we were told we would not be allowed to move in as they didn't think we could afford the place (despite what we earn in our paid jobs alone covering the rent and bills and then some.) Some wrangling later, the landlady agreed to rent to use if we could provide references and a guarantor, which we dutifully did, along with paying half the deposit.

We were also told that she would take away the bed in my room so I could bring my own bed, however this was revoked later. Fineholm wanted every single piece of stupid information under the sun. References for references for references. They don't accept payslips as proof of address. My parents were asked for P60's, pension information, bills, passport scans, you name it.

It was a gross invasion of privacy and not something I wanted my parents involved in. My Mum was told she couldn't stand as a guarantor because she didn't earn enough. My Dad was told he couldn't stand as a guarantor because they repeatedly mistook his pension information as a document that he was claiming state benefits (which he wasn't) Eventually we were told we couldn't rent the flat and that they were taking the money we had already paid, upon which my parents politely told them to jog on, whereupon they sheepishly came back saying the would rent to us if we paid 6 months rent up front. 6 months rent from the people they were so afraid couldn't afford their flat. Reluctantly my parents agreed to this, and have given over some of their savings, something that as a 28 year old, I'm terribly embarrassed and upset about. Fineholm's treatment of tenants who are not full time permanently employed is nothing short of disgusting.

Myself and my parents were made to feel like ne'er-do-wells because we are part time/self employed. Their greed and ridiculous policies have caused myself, my parents and my housemate an inordinate amount of stress and emotional turmoil, and if they step out of line even once when we finally get the keys we will not be staying past 6 months. So be warned, if you don't have a permanent, high paying job, Fineholm will make your life an utter misery.

Iain pretty much hit the nail on the head with this agency. My flatmates and I have had a number of problems dealing with Fineholm over the years. One such problem resulted in us talking to the big boss in the Glasgow branch as they had our account in hundreds of pounds worth of arrears that were never there in the first place; the threatening letters then stopped not long after.

On another occasion we were informed our flat would be inspected at a specific time and date, so we stayed in and the guy simply walked in the front door to our hall way and then just walked straight back out again. Most folk would find this perfect, however we are on good terms with our landlord and felt it unfair that she was paying for a service that she was not receiving, so we called her and she duly complained. Fineholm then sent another rep for a rigorous inspection in which they tried to fine us every way possible - presumably for the inconvenience. Avoid if possible

When the agent from Fine Holm met us the phrase "shooting fish in a barrel" must have gone through his mind. He easily spotted and shamelessly took advantage of our inexperience in renting to ensure that his company and himself shafted us rotten, then wiped their soiled appendages on our cardigans afterwards for good measure. My enduring memory was of the flat being inspected before we left, after which we were charged 45 for cleaning the fridge, and 80 for items missing from the inventory.

I think it is worth a mention that the inventory was compiled in 1998 and when we rented the flat in 2001 it had not been updated. The previous occupants it turned out, were also charged for the same missing items. Need I say more?
