Called regarding a flat on their website. my details were taken and they were supposed to come back to me with an answer to a question. I had to chase up. Then told the flat had gone. I asked them to let me know if anything similar came up. A couple of weeks later. the SAME flat came up! They had not attempted to contact me and didn't even have my details. Applied for the flat. a small issue with the application but they were unable to come up with a suitable resolve! Not helpful at all!

Do not use this letting agent! Me and two of my mates put applications in for a flat. The woman was pushy and asked that we complete the application within a 24 hour period. We obliged her and completed the applications within the time frame but to our amazement she apparently did not receive two of the applications despite us receiving conformation of completion.
Upon inquiring over the phone about the state of our application, the woman was incredibly rude to both me and my friend and denied us any proper explanation for what happened with our applications. I highly recommend that you avoid this letting agent at all costs. They are not worth your time and will happily screw you over

My partner and I rented a lovely appartment in Hove for over 2 years with Alice as our property manager and we couldn't have been happier with the experience: very professional, helpful, excellent communication and very quick to react when there was an issue. Would totally recommend this agency and especially Alice and Beth who dealt with the end of our tenancy. 10\/10.

Not the worst letting agency in the world, but their communication skills could use some work. I frequently had people coming into my flat without being giving the legal 24 hour notice, especially towards the end of my time under them (part of why I left). Loved the letting agent I had at the start of my contract, but unfortunately they left. Their replacement was definitely not as good, pretty cold and made me feel like a bother and an idiot any time I had to talk to them.

We moved to Brighton having had an overwhelmingly negative few years with renting property. As a result of this we were anxious to begin the process anew. However our fears were soon allayed once we viewed and applied for a property through Coastal Management. From the beginning, our relevant agent, Alice Kyle, was friendly, and diligent in working to make sure we were successful in our application. Having lived in a building managed by Coastal, and specifically Alice for nearly a year now, I can confirm this positive experience has continued.
Any issues, no matter how big or small are resolved quickly, and effectively - a fact that has made our first year in a new town measurably easier. To conclude, I can wholeheartedly recommend renting through Coastal, especially if Alice is responsible for your custom.

I was a tenant with Coastal for nearly 4 years and have only ever had a positive experience in dealing with them. They left me alone unless I contacted them which I really appreciated, it felt like I was trusted to look after my home. The rent was reasonable and only went up a nominal amount during the tenancy. When things went wrong like the boiler broke down it was repaired the same or next day.
I found the staff in the office to be brilliant, always attentive and courteous. I left the property because the landlord decided to sell but otherwise I'd have liked to have stayed long term. Leaving the property was made easy by the office staff who kept me informed and I received my deposit back in no time. Even after leaving the property the staff have been really helpful in ensuring I get any post from my old address. Would definitely use Coastal again and recommend.

If you are considering renting a flat from these guys don't! I have rented now for 15 years in Brighton and London, and this is by far and above the worst agency out there. They charge for everything despite bosting on there own website they have the lowest charges in the area - not true. they would charge you to use the loo if they could. They removed the windows from the front of the flat with out telling any of the residence, causing massive disruption for all tenants while the work was complete.
They raise the rent by a massive amount each month. Complaints are mostly ignored, when they do get back to you they will blame you for being difficult. At the end of the tenancy they charge for redecoration, despite the flat being occupied for 2+ years. Don't use this company! They will fleece you!

I have rented from them twice, in 2010 and 2012-14 and I can't say i have shared the terrible experience others seem to have had with this company. Most of the agents I spoke to or emailed during my tenancies had been helpful. Got deposit back both times, minus a 'clearing fee' because I'd left a few items in the flat on my first tenancy. I found the moving in process hassle free and flats in satisfactory condition, as you'd expect from a rented bedsit Studio apartment. I had no problem dealing with them.

The flat I lived in was in a constant state of disrepair for the four years I lived there and all workmen sent round to carry out repairs came with the wrong information, wrong parts, or on the wrong day! I am in the process of taking this company to small claims court. They are severely unprofessional and will do anything to get your money!

The customer service from coastal is impeccable - until the point where you actually move in. From then on, its appalling. The people in their office haven't got a clue. Getting any repairs done takes weeks and even then the standard is poor. They replaced the window in our flat and left the whole lounge covered in dust. On moving out the amount taken from the deposit was so much it was scandalous.
Each email to them took a week for them to reply, they would promise to call at a certain time then not bother. Dealing with them is a chore and they are the epitome of a bad lettings agent. Avoid.
