Stayed in one of the flats rented in chafford thats managed by Clarke Hillyer agents. Having lived in the UK since last many years I always have problems with estate agents whilst living. On this note I wish to mention Jackie Townley from the team who manages has been extremely helpful from the start till the finish and dealing swiftly will the issues that any tenants faces and also understanding the needs of tenants. Exceptional service.

I emailed this company regarding a property listed online, i did not get a response so i decided to call them, a lady answered the phone and said all the agents were busy and that someone called James would ring me back, she took my details but one week has passed and no one has called me back, seems like a company who are disinterested to say the least.

Theft! Yesterday Contractors used for a job in our flat stole a friends bike. Not a care in the world. Shocking. Be careful with your belongings. Wow, how many bad reviews C.Hillyer has, the embarrassment if it were my company. Around 7 years now, have been waiting for the roof to be fixed. Large holes everywhere, so in the winter my heating goes up and out. While pigeons take refuge in loft, NICE! Absolutely terrible service.

Irresponsible. They take time to think reasons for deposit deduction. This is the funny thing ever I have known about you signed the contact with the landlord, landlord is from oversea and you are the agent which is appointed by the oversea landlord and told tenant you are not responsible for return deposit. Anytime they sent me email they note rules and regulation and term but the agency needs to read it again.
I moved out and had given a notice twice, the funny thing they received all of my email except the 2 letters "Notice of moving". Then tried to find things to deduct my deposit "LEGALLY". this is very common after you moving out. I Moved out about amonth ago still my deposit is nowhere. Today they mentioned to pay the utility bills which under the landlord name with another company whereas I informed to Council, MP, all utility bills that I had rented the property.
I filled in the form with period of renting under my NAME. Now they ask me to pay the bill under the landlord name because Its my responsibility. I has already make the complaint to Ombudsman and waiting for their respond then I will seeking for help from my solicitors. If you think you are right just do what you wish to do. When I moved in, I asked about name on the bills, I informed the council and they never sent letter with landlord name except his overdue bills became.
No electric bill under His name I have ever seen until today he sent the electricity bill under his Name with another company whereas I singed the contract with another company. And obviously I had paid and informed I were moving. All with evidences so I don't care about the bills. If they don't return the money then Court Action is the las solution I might think at the moment. they try to make me feel I am the irresponsible tenant whereas I don't have any problem with bills or even debt.
