We own and manage c.7,000 homes in the East of England, working closely with other agencies and stakeholders within our communities. Ellie herself grew up in Wickhambrook, and when this home came up, she couldn't believe her luck. I was really lucky; I have always.

Each board director and committee member receives a small payment for their work. This is set by an independent panel which works to national guidelines. Relatives of board directors or committee members are not allowed to benefit financially from these roles. We're in the exciting process of creating a new Tenant Experience Committee, which will operate at the heart of Havebury, reporting directly to our Board. Scaffolding left unused blocking my kitchen window for 3 months, now more scaffolding completely blocking the sun at my main living room window for another month. I am left in the dark during summer not being able to open my windows with my plants dying for absolutely no reason. Get organised and take this scaffolding down!

I have been living in a havebury bungalow since separating and subsequently divorcing my husband more than 20yrs ago. It was the first property I and my children saw and suited, as it still does due to mobility issues. I've never had any issues with havebury, the place is maintained (sometimes not enough notice given for me to book leave from work if I have to be here for work to be done but the appointments rebooked to suit most times).
I do now live alone but would never be able to if I were in a house with stairs. I have a garden that I love being in, fantastic neighbours who genuinely care about and help each other and we have mostly all been here a similar time within our tiny hamlet so the feeling of belonging is strong. (It's a wonderful spot surrounded by fields and good walks or rides which I no longer can do).
I consider myself lucky to be in a havebury property as they're well maintained, big works done such as new kitchen (of my choosing even down to flooring and tiles) new bathroom etc, any repairs are dealt with promptly and I know most of the contractors who come here now. I highly recommend havebury as landlords. If I report something havebury send someone asap. Even in these difficult times they do everything possible to carry on for us all.

I wouldn't rent with Havebury. After bidding over 2 years I had won a bid on a house we wanted to rent I was told my affordability check had gone ahead to move then they failed me its a disgrace. I've been discriminated! I'm an honest person never had any issues with my rent or my bills. If you don't have clear bank statement your not going to be housed by this ridiculous housing. It's a shame cause I love Bury St Edmunds.

I have been waiting on an emergency repair for a week as I can not use my kitchen sink because of a blockage to the building. They told me they would contact me when the repair men were on their way which they did not. They quietly left me a note while I was in waiting for them without even ringing my door bell which works perfectly. Now I have to wait another week with no working sink. I doubt they even knocked on my door. Not happy.

My experience with Havebury has been nothing but positive. Maybe it because I was used to renting privately and waiting forever to get repairs sorted, but I have no complaints at all. My boiler broke down on Christmas Eve and I had someone out to sort it later that evening. It cut out again on Good Friday and someone was there within the hour. I had an issue in the shower room and someone popped out to visit within a couple of days.
I have a beautiful ground floor flat and a communal garden. Goodness knows how much it would have cost me to rent privately. It was very much a blank canvas when I got here. The floors were bare concrete and I am decorating the rooms as and when I can. I was previously a house owner and am used to unblocking my own sinks and minor jobs like that so maybe I am lucky in that I can do quite a lot myself. Having said that, we had a major issue with blocked drains recently (due to residents flushing away things they shouldn't).
It was dealt with the following day and a broken drain cover was replaced within a day or so. The staff have done all they can to make me welcome and I am immensely grateful for their support during a very difficult time of my life.
