I rarely do reviews, but I can't miss the opportunity to say how disappointed I am with the people there (Stephen and Caroline). They weren't honest with me, especially Stephen. I was trying to help my mom (She isn't fluent in English) to get a flat, went with her to see the flat, she liked and immediattely filled the application form. Next day, Stephen asked for a deposit to continue the application.
A couple of days later, I was informed that unfortunately, she failed the credit checks. I have told them straight away that I could be the guarantor and filled the forms on the same day. After nearly 2 long weeks (of credit checks) got a call saying that She didn't got the flat. I could not believe, because my credit Score is very high, and the flat was taken out of the rightmove website on the previous day.
I asked Stephen if they have checked my credit (as guarantor) and surprise.they haven't. which I found very suspicious, especially after Stephen suggested me to fill the forms for guarantor and make us wait for 2 weeks. I have confronted Stephen about the flat not being advertised anymore and he said it was an issue they had with the system. Basically just insulted my intelligence, I believe these people just think all foreigners are stupid.
The truth is that the flat never went back to the rightmove website, and probably was rented to someone else while they were doing the "credit checks". I asked about having the deposit money back and they said that they could not do that because my mom failed the credit checks. I have spoken with the agency manager Caroline on the next day and I got the same answer.but in a very unpolite and rude way.
This people should not be dealing with the public. Maybe they treat the renting customers differently from the sales, or maybe is just the foreigners they treat like this. Anyway I Will go with my mom to the Citizens Advice, and find out her rights. Swallows for me is zero stars. Dishonesty, rudness and discrimination.

AVOID! Worst estate agents around! Completely incompetent and unprofessional. Take advantage of vulnerable people and only think of themselves. My family renters with them for nearly 10 years and throughout they were awful! Never fixed things, only lied, manipulated and did things at the lowest cost when convenient for them! The staff are awful, so rude and inhuman. So disappointed with their services. Save your family the anxiety, stress and upset by choosing a different agency!

Avoid! Went to view a property that was on the same land as a lovely lady who owns converted stables. We were toured around by her as she was happy to do so. Andrew then turned up and immediately gave off an arrogant way about him. He seemed annoyed we came a bit early and was toured by the woman. He also shushed my dog, did not shush the owner of the property's dog.just mine (clearly he's fake to those he benefits from).
He heard me shush my dog and thought he could do the same, but much louder and unkind. If he did that again I would have not been so dismissive. I hope to never come across him again. We then made our way to the next property. We could not see him outside. We tried to find somewhere to park. In no way are we parking on the main country road. He came out all confused about why we were not getting out.
He pulled faces (I could see he was even when wearing a mask OUTSIDE). He scrunched up his eyebrows saying "it's fine to park here" and seemed annoyed that we turned that down as my partner did not want to park on a bend. I also started to talk about the parking and Andrew just WALKS OFF as I'm talking! What a completely utterly unprofessional manner he has. His attitude needs to change as his ego is too big and I do not get why. Keep your dogs away from him and also just stay away in general.

Shocking discrimination from this estate agents. In visiting their offices I was met by three women (one closest to the door and not particularly friendly, the others barely looking up from their desks) and was told that they couldn't help me as they didn't have any rentals for single parent families (I had a daughter of two) who weren't earning over 20k, even if they could prove they received far more monthly than was required for rent per month.
This is sadly the standard for most Estate Agents, but at least some of them will try their best by offering up some suggestions (Allen & Harris and McAllisters were both very friendly, helpful and approachable) or are willing to discuss possibilities with the landlord. I was met with a firm response, which left me leaving feeling very disheartened and shocked by the clear discrimination.

Sadly, no difference from most other rental agencies: they are patronising and treat tenants like sub-standard humans whose only purpose is to generate cash. In our case they did not see us into the property but carried out the exit checks and claimed that dozens of things were not as they had been found, despite our having hired a team of cleaners to make sure the place was perfect.
We also carried out a few repairs and improvements during our 5 year stay (which the agents didn't even notice of course) and actually left the place in better condition than it was when we moved in. Fortunately for us our landlords were lovely and knew the reality, so paid us back our full deposit. We are landlords as well and this is precisely why we do not use agencies! We also treat our tenants very well and respect them.

Shabbily treated as tenants - this agency is on the side of the landlord. There is no Equality here! Discrimination is a crime. We were model tenants - on the quarterly inspections the reviewer was always impressed with our high standards. We received threatening & offensive emails, texts & phone calls from Caroline Standen McDougal whoose customer service skills are zero. Requests were ignored or denied (loose spindle on banister not considered important enough). They just want your money. People rent privately for a variety of reasons - we are not all benefit scroungers/unemployed

After having a bad experience with a previous letting agency me and my partner found a perfect little house through swallows. We have been renting through them for over a year now and If weve had any problems (which is not a lot) they have always dealt with it straight away with a professional manner. I would highly recommended swallows.

As a landlord I have found Swallows Property Letting to be very professional agents. They took care to find me suitable tenants for my house and now the tenants have renewed for a second year. They carry out quarterly inspection to the property and they always follow up with an informative report on the condition. Thanks a lot Andrew.
