Services
APYork is a letting agency specialising in student accommodation with a portfolio of residential housing. All the student properties are near the two major (higher) educational establishments - the University of York and York St John's University. All the residential properties are located within or close proximity to the city centre.
All our student houses are furnished and have gas central heating. For safety reasons, often modern purpose-built flats have electric heating which heat the accommodation to the same standard. Almost all of our student houses are double glazed. Very occasionally there may be one or two windows in smaller rooms that are not double glazed (eg a separate toilet room).
Under the terms of your tenancy agreement you will be expected to have paid your first instalment of rent and provided guarantee forms. If any payments or forms are outstanding you will almost certainly be denied access to your house. If we are managing your house we will contact you about making arrangements to move in, but you will need to schedule an appointment for key collection. Where we have been asked to act on a tenant find basis only, you need to contact your landlord to make the necessary arrangements.
If you come across an issue with the property during your tenancy, you may need to get in touch with us but remember, some everyday issues such as replacing a light bulb, setting the timer on the boiler, and defrosting the freezer are your responsibility. It is important to understand the difference between an emergency and a matter that you would like dealt with swiftly.

Avoid at all costs- very rude letting agents who seem not to care for tenants at all. Left a tenancy due to unprofessional behaviour. Especially avoid if you're a student and want to keep your deposit. Disgusting behaviour to be quite frank and no surprise they have only terrible reviews from real customers.

Having provided our services to numerous Agencies throughout Yorkshire for over 10 years, we have found APYork to be amongst the top-tier in regards to their professionalism, selection and variety of properties, and the care they take in maintaining them. Seldom do we see other Agents' dutifully clean, carryout repairs and redecorate their properties between tenancies as APYork does.
The staff (although they don't suffer fools gladly) have always been amendable, professional and helpful. Although some may find their style 'direct', we have only found them to be clear, concise but above all fair in their dealings with tenants, landlords and contractors alike. Kim is especially helpful and always a pleasure to speak to. She is very knowledgeable, well-organised and ensures queries are dealt with promptly.
