Compared to my previous landlord/agent, who tried to hamstring me by overcharging me and illegally charging me extra money for the privilege of being allowed to rent a place, Ashmore Lettings is. not that bad at all. So far, they've given me tips on how to maintain the property I'm renting, and have been pretty reasonable with me. A good liaison between me and the landlord behind the scenes.
Every issue I've had so far has been dealt with eventually, though I can't really blame them if the landlord decides to delay works. Of course, I still run into my usual bout of issues dealing with people. My usual honesty and directness combined with a lack of tactfulness has occasionally led to misunderstandings where I'm sure the agent thought I was trying to get out of my responsibilities. Luckily, they've always remained professional enough for these situations to resolve themselves, which is appreciated. Note however that I have no other experiences with letting agents across the UK to compare them with, though my lack of any real complaint should speak for itself.

We have been working with Salek of Ashmore Lettings & Sales for over 9 years managing one of our properties in Walsall. He is very professional, polite and he knows his stuff. He gives his professional opinion and his reasoning behind it and lets us decide. We have never had an issue with him. I am very pleased with the service provided by Ashmore Lettings and the Tenancy Manager Salek Miah, which I have been receiving for the past 3 years. They are 100% professional, knowledgeable and fully supportive, and I know the renting of my property is in the best hands. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I would give them 10 out of 10, as due to their hard work and expertise, I have been able to avoid any painful headaches in the renting of my property and the looking after of my tenants. Excellent service, excellent communication throughout from Salek. They went above and beyond when letting out a flat on my behalf and in my view have set a new standard in terms of a fully managed service, I write this as an expat landlord with various properties in the UK let out through other estate agents. I feel that Salek knows the local property market inside out, and has my best interests at heart, as well as those of the tenants. He has a holistic approach to this business, it's not just about the bottom line but building a long term relationship. Thoroughly recommended.

I usually don’t write any reviews but if this could help even just one person then I felt it was important to explain my horrendous experience with Ashmore... My husband and I were tenants in one of Ashmore’s properties, we kept the house in good condition and caused no issues during our tenancy. When we were about to move to our own property, Coronavirus hit.
This affected us as the lockdown meant house moving companies were closed. We immediately notified ashmore but we were unfortunate enough to take Ashmore’s manager, Salek Miah’s word on his offer to give us a few more days extra because of the issues around moving whilst I was also in the most vulnerable group (which he was also aware of). Afterwards, this man was callous enough to pretend this conversation never happened.
Once we moved out, he schemingly charged us hundreds of pounds by claiming rent for several days after we had already moved out. Salek tried to defraud us of hundreds of pounds and added other unexplained/illegal costs. We thankfully reclaimed a good amount of the costs through the DPS, but as we made the mistake of taking his word/not asking for his word in writing we lost money. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ASHMORE LETTINGS whether you’re a landlord or a tenant, they obviously have no respect for themselves or common decency. These difficult times have shown who people really are and this company could debase you as a landlord and is run by a person without morals.
