Recently purchased a 350k house from them. They didn't have the courtesy to hand over the keys in a professional manner. Gave a bunch of keys with a key tag (as if giving the house for free) from their Leicester office. NO thank you note and no welcome package from them. Sure they made good money from this deal. I won't recommend to anyone. Avoid if possible

Shame 0 stars is not an option! Avoid at all cost! Berkeley's are the worst letting agents I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They are rude and there communication is diabolical. So glad I don't have to deal with them ever again now I have moved home. The staff at the barrow office are the worst they lie and always use the excuse of there "waiting to hear from the landlord" but after being in direct contact with my landlord it's clear there all liars! Luckily after going through the Leicester branch I eventually got some contact and was given back my rent deposit after many months of calling Berkeley's barrow office, don't know why they have a phone as no one ever answers it!

This is a mixed review. The pros is that emails were dealt with in a timely fashion, however it lacked any warmth. I was never once addressed by my name, neither was the emails signed off by any name as well. The lady who showed me around the apartment didn't even introduce herself. I had to ask for her name and introduced myself. The apartment had not been lived in a while and I asked if it would be cleaned up before I moved in and she said no, that once, the previous tenant have done a move out clean, then that was it.
By the time I moved in, the fridge was full of mould and the house was covered with cobwebs. The whole process felt very automated. I think they could do with some congeniality.

Very, very poor service. We had no heating for over 12 months and they failed to even contact our landlord until we had been without heating for 10 months. Very rude and unprofessional emails and calls, demanding money and failing to take responsibility for any issues or maintenance for the property.

Liam, Zach and the team here have looked after the letting of my property for the past couple of years and have been exceptional. From the initial valuation to selling, Alex and Sam have been brilliant and so helpful. Nothing has been too much trouble and I've always been kept up to date or if I needed anything chasing they would sort it straight out for me. I have already been recommending them and if we ever sell again in the future I will definitely be using Berkley again!

As a landlord, I have been with Berkley for 5 years now and rent out 2 houses through them. I have always found them to be professional and they have kept me advised of any of the tenants needs to which I have acted promptly. Some of the tenants have been delightful and some have left the houses in a less than satisfactory condition. Berkley have been very helpful in negotiating between the tenants and myself and do date, we have always achieved a satisfactory outcome.
One of my initial problems was having been with an estate agent who robbed me (and many others) so trust needed to be built up. Berkley have proved to be very trustworthy and I have absolute confidence in them, certainly from the point of view of a landlord and I would also think from the point of view of a tenant. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.
