Critical: Professionalism, Quality As a Landlord I had to take Bluewood Lettings to court because they deducted too much commission when they arranged a let for me - they failed to reimburse me when I asked for the money to be returned and only paid it back to me 18 months later because the Court said they must. Landlords beware.

Casual thieves. Nightmare when you move out. They try to steal money from you by all means and they can do it because a lot of international students are not familiar with the laws. Please, to everyone that is struggling getting money from them, use the Deposit Protection Scheme dispute and remember they can only take money for things that you have broken.
No admin fees should be taken from your deposit, or cleaner or anything of this sort. Check government info if unsure of anything, and I wish you luck dealing with these venomous people. Really you can't believe in anything they say.

Terrible. Rented from them for 2 years and I have never seen such an unprofessional agency. Our heater was broken in November and we kept calling them everyday and they took a whole month to fix it. Engineers would should up unannounced and very early AND with their own key. I got home one time and all the lights were on because one of their engineers was there fixing something.without permission. Washing machine broke twice.
A friend of mine lived on the ground floor and his window was smashed by a burglar and the agency was actually mad at him for putting up some wood panels as a temporary solution. 0/10 would not recommend!

Would never rent from them again, would not recommend to anyone. We had a house of theirs for our second year of uni they were aweful. Before we had even moved in we discovered that they had signed the contract for 2 groups of people which they denied and meant that the other group had to fight to get their deposits back. The house was in poor shape (really really dirty) and had problems with mice and rats.
We tried to contact the agency several times after moving in before they even acknowledged our attempts let alone do anything about it. They would arrange house viewings and not let us know, appear in the house at 8am when some of us were asleep. They took ages to return the deposit and stole our Virgin WiFi router which meant we had to pay a fee for not returning it when we moved out.

Do not use! While now they can't legally charge agency and checkout fees (the latter of which were 60 each, were non-negotiable and were taken from our deposit), they are incredibly rude. They took 2 months to return our deposits, did not provide us a breakdown of charges until we called to ask where it was, and charged us for three identical cheap beds breaking in exactly the same way implying we had done this on purpose and that they were all fit for use.
None of us are particularly heavy people. We also found the house in a filthy state and I personally cleaned it top to bottom returning the keys with the house in much cleaner state than it was found. Viewings are very intrusive. If took ages for any maintenance we needed doing to be done. My room had a storage cupboard with a hatch to the loft in it and several times, I had to move all of my work equipment in and out so they could install insulation and then survey it IN APRIL.

We also found the house in a filthy state and I personally cleaned it top to bottom returning the keys with the house in much cleaner state than it was found. Viewings are very intrusive. The worst agency in Coventry. We paid admission fee for a alternative property which we had viewed only to be told it's been sold by the landlord. We were told the property we will be given is exactly the same as the one we viewed therefore we didn't view the property. There was cracks in the house when we arrived with doors off the hinges as if there had been a burglary before.
No attempt to fix the property before arrival. Damp was everywhere from ceiling to walls. Heating didn't work properly alongside with the oven. The cracks gave way for mice which was a problem from the beginning of moving in to the end. When confronted with the mice infestation there was a refusal to provide alternative property. Very slow service.
If you are looking for a property in Coventry especially as a student, save yourself the hassle and find another agency as they do not treat their tenants with the due respect

WORST ESTATE AGENT IN COVENTRY. Never use these guys. Not professionals and just after their profits and and commission money. Paid them for fully managed service plus rent guarantee but they never inspected my property and they let it to someone they personally knew who messed my property up and now I have to pay for all the damages they have done(I can put before and after let pics). Tenant left without paying the rent and they just released the deposit saying all the damages and garden mess and big carpets they left in the garden are something called TLC. Very disappointed and will never use bluewood for anything ever in future.

Avoid, avoid, avoid at all costs! I was with them in my first and third year at uni. Absolutely appalling service! Very unreliable and unhelpful! Like people have said below here, they're only there when they need money from you, but don't do anything when you have a problem with the property. Both times we had left the houses in better condition than when we moved in, and both times we got 120 pounds (each!) deducted from our deposits, for ''cleaning services'', for which no substantiating evidence or reasonable explanation was provided!
Not to mention we had to wait for the rest of our deposits for over 2 months, after they promised we'll get it back after up to 10 days from moving out! When you speak to them on the phone they put you on hold for ages just to come back and brush you off with a few quick sentences and then hang up, without even giving you a chance to say anything.
They rely on that strategy with foreign students who go home for the summer and can't turn up and argue face to face. And don't even dream of getting a reply to an e-mail. I honestly don't understand how they are still in business, given the ratings they have and what other people have said about their experience with Bluewood, which are quite similar to mine! Utterly and disgustingly bad! I wouldn't recommend them under any circumstances!

Extremely happy with my experience with Bluewood. Very thorough and reliable and rented the property quickly and with no problems. Paperwork was taken care of in a quick and efficient manner and the level of service was achieved above the level I was aiming for. Overall very happy throughout the tenancy, even though there were a couple of maintenance calls that needed to be made these were both dealt with promptly by their builder who fixed it within a couple of days of being reported.
No worries at the end with my deposit as this was refunded after I filled in the paperwork within a few days. Great service guys will recommend to anyone who plans to come to Coventry to rent from here.

Dealing with Bluewood has been a disaster from start to finish. We had paid a summer retainer where we were allowed to put our stuff in the Property over July and August before we lived in it from September. When we went to collect the keys we were told that the Landlord had them (even though they were expecting us), so we had to wait two hours for the Landlord to bring them.
Once we finally got into the Property it was absolutely disgusting! The promised cleaners had definitely NOT been in. The previous tenants had trashed the place. All light fittings were broken, the smoke alarms were hanging off, doors were broken and carpets / walls stained with spillages and god knows what! It took so much fighting with Bluewood for them to finally get the house fixed to a liveable standard and "professionally" cleaned, but we were left with gaping holes in our lounge ceiling throughout the tenancy which Bluewood promised to fill in in 2014 and by June 2016 still hadn't gotten around to it!
So the end of our tenancy came. Handed the keys in a few weeks early. Have since been promised our deposit would be in our bank accounts within a few days FIVE times and the money still hasn't arrived! After multiple phone calls of what seems to be like talking to a brick wall, we have finally got a solicitor involved. AVOID THIS COMPANY.

Rented with Bluewood for 2 years while at uni and I have to say I never had a problem with them. Any maintenance issue I had got sorted. Sure, sometimes it would take a couple of days to get it done which is understandable, but the guys in the office were always so nice and helpful. Also I got my deposit back when I left, minus 60 which I think it's okay given some damage was done over the course of 2 years.

This was my first experience of renting a property, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Bluewood were fantastic, they helped me find the right property for my needs and were very friendly and knowledgeable throughout the whole process.
