1 STAR FLATTERS THEM. Awful letting agency. House was a mess when moving in. Unhelpful when it came to contacting them about problems throughout the year. We deep cleaned the house on leaving and left it in a better condition than we got it. However, they proceeded to send 300+ pictures of every spec of dust in the house in order to try and take 750+ in numerous made up deposit charges. AVOID at all costs.

Rude, condescending and completely unhelpful, we left our second year uni house in a better condition than keylet gave it to us and they still demanded we paid for damage fees from our deposit. When we were given the keys to our house, one of the agents let us in and left quite sharpish once we began to clock on at how much of a state the house was in, the furniture was moldy, the microwave and refrigerators were rusted, smelly and broken, the Garden had about 6 months worth of general waste piled up in bags ( which wasnt resolved for atleast 2 months into our tennancy ) Every room had excessive damp stains which even effected the furniture e.g. Wardrobes, desks etc. An absolutely horrid experience which tainted our second year of uni.

I was a tenant in a keylet property for two years and had zero issues, property was great and any issues that came up (toilet seat came detached, washing machine wouldn't start), they had it fixed within a day or two of me reporting. My garage fob stopped working and as I was isolating due to test and trace I couldn't get to the office for a new one, when I called and told the staff this they sent someone to bring the fob to my property.
I never had any difficulty getting in touch, always answered phone first time or replied to emails quickly. Had my full deposit back less than a month after leaving with no quibbles whatsoever. Highly recommend

Disgusting, corrupt, thieving company. Extremely unprofessional and they will charge you ridiculous amounts for issues THAT ALREADY EXISTED. They are by far the rudest people i have ever dealt with and they will take ALL your deposit despite leaving your house in FLAWLESS condition. We spent 7 HOURS cleaning and did no damage and they deducted 1200 for EXISTING issues on the inventory. AVOID AVOID AVOID ALL THE 5 STAR REVIEWS ARE FAKE.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value At Cardiff bay branch, When I call them and ask for help and guidance for maintenance or some issues, they do not respond to you and do not let you explain what the problem is. Unfortunately, I will not renew the contract with them due to the mishandling of the tenant and the lack of cooperation.

Ignore all the FAKE 5 star reviews coincidentally mentioning all staff by name. KEYLET ARE THE MOST GARBAGE AGENCY YOU COULD EVER DEAL WITH. They will steal your deposit for made up reasons, they will refuse to repair ANYTHING. The house constantly leaked and they were rude and racist to my housemates.

Beware! Keylet knew that some of their tenants were abusive and violent but let rooms to my friends anyway, who were forced to leave because Keylet refused to act. Now Keylet is demanding rent for when my friends weren't even there, and threatening their families with legal action. This is a review from my own experience of dealing with them. Irresponsible and untrustworthy! Avoid!

Extremely helpful agency! I thought it would be quite hard to secure a stay since I was abroad and I would not be able to view properties in person. However, Elis Adams made the process super smooth and easy by sending me videos for the property, and he is so happy to answer all my questions. I would like to point out that I really appreciate him helping me during my self-isolation period after I arrived by making sure I got everything sorted! Above and beyond service!

This is an honest opinion from dealing with Keylet: Keylet is the KEY to a massive LETdown! This agency knowingly let out a flat with hostile & violent cotenants (the previous tenants had left after complaints). When the new tenants were forced to leave as well due to the abuse, Keylet refused to release them from their contract, neglecting their safety and wellbeing, and instead chose to demand rent for the months they were unable to live at the property and threaten with legal action. I advice to avoid if you can!

We were woke up at 7am this morning due to there being a leak in our bedroom from the strong rain last night (due to hailstones out of anyone's control). I struggled to find an emergency number to contact however Craig was extremely helpful when the office opened and got a contractor and electrition out to us as soon as possible aswell as attending the property himself to check and reassure us!
We were assured we would be placed into accommodation tonight for our safety and to make sure we feel safe while it dries up! Overall I'm happy with how it was handled thank you Craig!

Went into the letting agent completely unplanned with no booking after being let down by another company. Ellis was super helpful and so welcoming. He spoke through my budget and showed me a complete range of places which were all within range of what I could afford. He was so professional and quickly built up a good rapport with him. He showed me properties that same day and put no pressure on to buy. Would 100% recommend Keylet to anyone, especially with Ellis there.

Very professional and friendly agency. Had a few issues with the house during our tenancy and they were always on point with repairs and everything else we needed! Returned our bond back within a month as well, just brilliant! Also many thanks to Craig for helping us throughout the tenancy, lovely guy:))

I am really unhappy with the way I have been treated by your staff recently and would appreciate it if you could take my matter seriously. I am an ex-tennant of 3 cyfarthfa street and called keylet to ask how to return my house keys, the lady on the phone said I need to hand them in before 10am on the 1st July or risk a fine. She also said that we could post them through the letter box as the office was closing.
That night me and my friends posted the keys through the letterbox only to call them the next day and for you to say you only had one set and that we will be charged. I understand why you would have to charge for not handing in keys, that I cannot dispute but when your colleague 'Lisa' says that I haven't posted the keys when I have, that really upsets me.
I am not a liar. We asked if we could see the cctv footage or for you to open the letterbox and the two ladies said that they can't do that, we are too busy and we will be charged. To make matters worse, Lisa then suggested out of the blue that we had left our previous house in a 'mess' this however is not true. The house when we moved in was very dirty and before leaving the property we all cleaned it to a satisfactory standard, one of which we did not receive when we moved in.

Keylet was my first choice when me and three of my friends were looking to rent a house for 2015. We met a man called Corbin, I think? At first he was very helpful and the two houses we seen were pretty decent and great location. When we got back from the view ins we said that I liked a specific house. But we had a lot of other view ins that day and we told Corbin that we would come back if we did not find anything else.
From then on he became very pushy and told that basically, we would not find another house as nice as the ones we just seen. He started bad mouthing the other agencies telling us that half of the ones we were going to see were not registered and that our bonds would not be protected. He then went on to explain about all of this and he instantly became pushing, pressuring and to me annoying.
I would not recommend going to Keylet because of my experience this man was to pushy and was not a good sales person, and he pushed me and my friends away. Me and my friends found much nicer houses that the first ones we seen at a much cheaper price as well! And our agents are so nice and down to earth. We also confronted the agencies telling them that we were told about how our bonds wasn't protected and they were more happy to show and talk to us that they are, etc. This man from Keylet was lying and was just trying to fool us.

Stay away from this letting agent at all costs! they are money grabbers who will over charge you for everything under the sun and rob you blind. they will charge stupid extra amounts for invoices (i.e. printing out a sheet of paper), which must be using fancy ink i suppose by the astronomical prices. they constantly add these petty fees and charge you extortionate amounts for cleaning when you leave the property, they have charged me over 100 for a cleaning job that will take about 30 seconds. they're trying to con me by charging for stains that were there when i moved in and avoid any hard questions that require a tough answer - very poor customer service. they also fail to address any issues you raise, and the ones they do address they employ people who make a half arsed job at things and then give up when you continually nag them to fix the problem. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!

Keylet have one of the funkiest letting offices going in Cathays, if not of the whole of Cardiff, or even the world - well, maybe that's going a bit too far, but it is pretty funky with its bizarre circular design and and strange gaps in the floor where you can look down at some office monkeys working away below. Keylet are very helpful when looking for a place, if not badgering, to get you to look at them.
I had all but given up on looking for a house share when Keylet rang me up regarding a viewing I had taken on recently. They took me to a house that was perfect for me, location wise and cost wise. We have had some problems with appliances breaking here and there, it may take them a little time to do it, but it does get done in the end, but then again that may be down to the landlord.
You do have to pay a 75 agency fee to Keylet for the pleasure but your bond does get stashed away in one of those external bond companies, so it is easier to quibble if you don't get the amount back that you were expecting. So far, no major disasters but then again I am only 2 months into my tenancy, I shall see how it goes.

It's a time honoured tradition of letting agents to screw people over. It's how they make their money, after all. "Oh, your mates are moving out of a house and you'd like to make sure you and another group of friends can move in straight away? Well, that's going to be 250 agency fees. That'll pay for all the contracts we're going to print out for you.
In about four months. If we feel like it." I'm well aware of this fact, and I factor all douche-fees into my accounting when dealing with estate agents. So understand that when I say Keylet takes the goddamn cake, I know what I'm talking about. I'd never witnessed such incredible incompetence until I rented a student house with them, and never thought I would again (but that's a topic for another review).
In what society is it considered fine for an estate agent to be made aware of problems 2 months before new tenants move in, only to not have fixed them AT ALL, but also to deny ever being told about them and, when presented with e-mail evidence of them being told, to say the tenants FORGED the e-mail and the reply? And furthermore, to not only not fix the issues for the entire length of the year long tenancy, but then try to bill the renters for the damage, which they had also tried to do to the previous tenants? Keylet is an incompetent, malicious company based around the business model of thoroughly screwing any customers that are unlucky enough to not have already heard their reputation. Landlords and tenants alike, do not use them. If you see a house you like with Keylet on the front, try your hardest to contact the landlord directly and do everything through him. Keylet will screw you over.

I have had a very poor service from Keylet. I was often made to wait for long periods for repairs to get done. My main issue was their attempt to retain our entire bond after being in a house for four years. We did not ask for redecoration at all during this time, nor did they accept our request for new carpets, after they were infected prior to us moving in.
The damage this infection caused was included as a charge on our bond letter, despite it being present before we moved in. They made very high estimates for repairs and did not provide receipts for all. They also, on occasions, did not respond to written letters within the 7-day time period that they promised. They didn't respond appropriately with health issues, such as a bedbug infestation throughout a property we rented, and only the landlord offered any compensation for this. Again, they initially charged us for 'missing beds' that were removed (and not replaced) as part of the treatment of the infestation. If this is the kind of treatment that you feel is acceptable, then Keylet is the right choice for you

Everything about our experience with this letting agent was fantastic. We called up, looking for a house for the next academic year. We arranged a booking with a secretary who was friendly and efficient. When we met up, the man who showed us around took us to a variety of properties, including ones that weren't on his list, that we bugged him to take us to!
Back at the agency, having seen a house we liked, we were given time to think about our decision without being hassled. We decided to go for it and had a two week period between paying our agency fees (to get the property off the market) and signing the contract. This was good because it allowed us to calmly assure ourselves that it was what we wanted. Going back for the signing, we were shown downstairs (this did scare us a little - I felt as though we were being led to a dungeon) and greeted by another office of happy looking staff. Everything was explained to us clearly. I left feeling as though I was right to trust them.
