I'd like to say that not all estate agents are scheming liars? But I can't. Especially this one. From a landlord's point of view, I'd set up my own company rather than deal with this bunch of idiots ever again. I was assured that all tenants were properly vetted and had references. My property is fairly new and extremely well maintained.
The family that was put into my property damaged furniture and fixtures, and painted the rooms against my wishes. They covered up the damage on inspection, but after they had vacated the property, didn't bother attempting to clean at all, leaving me with a cleaning bill, a decorator's bill, and damages. That was nearly six months ago, and I'm still waiting for compensation from Bain. The idiot, Bain, even had the cheek to say that he had another family waiting to go in at a higher price! Don't go near this bunch.

Where do i start? All complains lodged at start of tenancy. (I was asked to like it or lump it at 7 months and was asked to leave due to not paying rent after 7 and a half months), (paid rent for the first 5 months) The roof was badly damaged and when it rained it would drip through the roof and into the loft, where basins had been placed (which were full) under the 5/6 drips.
One so drip would drip onto my bed through a crack in the roof. They repaired the roof 6 months later, as far as im aware the crack is still to be repaired. Most of the windows were leaking or would let in a draft and if bad a whistling noise. (repaired after 6 months, the man fixing the windows said the windows were too old to be fixed and needed replaced as soon as).
No heating or hot water for duration of lease (breaking the water and wind-tight guarantee). They would come and let themselves in unannounced to ask why rent wasn't paid stating they need the money before they can repair (they had 5 months of us paying full rent) Washing machine broke down and took them 2 months to get a 2nd hand one delivered to us, so we had to handwash or find other means (use friends and relatives).
Kitchen sink leaked as the u-bend would not connect to the pipe. Took them almost a month to fix a broken light. Let themselves into bedrooms without asking the occupant on multiple occasions.
